windows XP, duel booting with windows 7 RC, when 7 becomes final, I will have an option of using both OS's, as I don't want to lose XP anytime soon, trying 7 RC, I have a few niggles with it, and of course drivers, but anyway, main OS is XP for the foreseeable future;)

XP now and always. Way better that Vista, and until MS can prove that 7 is not going to be a shambles like Vista was, it will be XP for as long as I can get away with it!

Funny you mentioned that Raven. I have both XP & XP Pro, and I prefer just the XP.
As for Vista, it will never grace my desk while I'm alive!:)

I have XP on my desktop and laptop. My wife's laptop is Vista. I hope to switch all to 7 when it proves itself and if my computers will support it.

One XP, one Vista, one Windows 7. I love the latter, by the way.

Have worked on many XP's...they are not up to the task.

I have XP Pro. It was not too hot until service pack 3 but it works well now.

Vista? You can look through the window and see Hell.

Windows 7? Will cause a new wave of computer purchases in order to support it's bloated code. That's how the marketing scheme works. Look for the sweet spot and 4 gigs of ram with one quad processor. Video Card w 1 Gig memory.

well Im currently trying out windows 7RC, and I can't really fault it, while I admit I never used vista, I think windows 7 seems to be very stable, using the 64bit version at the mo, runs fast and no real issues apart from some drivers and programs that won't work yet, but I like what I see so far, but I will continue to use XP for a long time yet, at least I do have the option of duel booting, helps a lot, PS found a very nice little free boot manager called gag4_10, http://www.filecluster.com/downloads/GAG.html works a treat:)

XP, although I'll shortly be testing out Vista and Windows for a game I'm designing. I see 39% of users have Vista but I wonder how many of these have it through "choice", as microsoft have been pushing it hard on all new computer sales in the last 2-3 years or so. I also wonder if Vista has already reached its maximum potential market, with Windows 7 shortly entering the market.

I think probably quite a few vista users will switch to windows 7 on release, and probably XP users as well, the only barrier I can see is price, no word from MS on what price it will be selling the different editons at, if they over charge, (and I have read a few places that they might) then they will be shooting themselves in the foot, and many I doubt will switch, so that is a barrier that may happen, but I think if the price is right, windows 7 will become popular fast, and maybe the OS you should be aiming at, saying that, if it works on vista, it should work on windows 7 as well

Vista 64 (ultimate) dual-booting with XP. I've actually started to prefer Vista - a guilty secret I should probably have kept to myself ^^

 I have an OCR that only works with Win98 ... so it's what I have installed on a second hard drive. Otherwise, I'll stick with XP 'till it hurts.

XP is still a great OS, and will be supported until 2014 ;) so that is saying something, but the problem is, will many games still be created for it? as Im sure MS will only release DX10 games, and so will be pushing DX10 even harder as soon as windows 7 is released, its all very well them supporting an OS, but its quite another if more choose vista / windows 7, but then again, any that do choose those OS's may end up shooting themselves in the foot, stormrise is one example, DX10 game only, (and from what I read a poor one at that, so it matters not) but the point remains

I heard this a lot from people who have both Operating Systems and are getting used to Vista! From my own experience to, once you figure out how something works in Vista you will start to prefer it!. It is just the figuring out part that is mostly fustrating and irritating in the beginning and a lot of people do not have the time and patience for it!
