Most of us send the Navigator out of the Airlock for refusing to obey orders to break landing or docking protocols even in emergency situations at Cities and Stations in the Warzones! LOL:P:P:P

No I do not think it is in the manual, but I think it sometimes comes up as one of the tips! I do not recall reading it in the instructions. It also might be in the Strategy Guide thou!;)

From the instructions, Navigation Console section:
You can select a navigation point directly to an object in space by right clicking on its icon on the map. This option will set the X. Y, and Z position to the object for you automatically. Obviously, you'll want to avoid jumping directly into a planet or moon, so you'll want to manually fine tune your jump point to avoid colliding into certain objects. Right clicking on a station will automatically set your jump point to the docking hangar of the station.

Hey guys, I need some help with those "Spy on Ships" missions. After mopping up the fighter cover, exactly at what distance do I need to be from the ship to "spy" on it ?

I'm not absolutely certain about this, but there seems to be a "blind spot" underneath Capital Ships (sometimes)... if you "hug the underside" of it... sometimes the missiles self-detonate eventually. Maybe they have trouble locking on? Dunno, I'm not sure and I might be wrong about that; in any case it's too unreliable to depend on.
HEAVY use of countermeasures can help.
What can REALLY help is a stealth device. Timing, and some agility, though; destroy all other hostiles first, take a deep breath, afterburn towards the underside while spewing CMs. Activate the device as soon as you are in range and the scan countdown timer starts, then MAKE SURE you don't overshoot out-of-range. Takes a little practice. Quickly afterburn away after the scan is complete.
A Cargo Scanner can help, a Cargo Scanner class 5 boosts your scanning range to 2500 meters. Slightly better chance of outrunning missiles at the end of the scan, since you are not as close, and overall it makes the mission easier.
You can *try* just shooting the missiles... but its difficult to find just the right spot and sometimes you get fairly thick salvos.

Yes, I believe the 30 to 700 is without any scanner. And if you install a Scanner it might increase the range distance for scanning. I found it easier to use a class 5 scanner and a stealth Generator although not nescessary for mission!;)

Guess I'd better do some trading/contracts to afford a Stealth generator then. Thank you both for the tips.
