Hello All,
Well I have another problem but it has to do with weapons. I added a beam weapon to my starter ship and all was fine I had both weapons firing straight ahead. But after pressing some unknown button it is no longer so. I now have the beam firing straight ahead and the pulse or starter gun firing way off to one side.
How do i reset the guns to shoot straight again?
I did not know the could be changed and have no clue how i have done so. And I have tried all my saved games and they are all like that now.
Please Help.

That should not be possible, so I'm going to guess you might have ran into a bug there.

Hey,
Thanks for the replies but no nothing worked at all, looks like i start fresh again, not like i was that far but was near 1.5mil.
I just hope i dont get the bug again as it would suck having to start fresh again.
Thanks

That sounds like normal behavior. The beam weapons always shoot straight. The particle cannon only shoots straight if your MDTS is turned off(default L key, I think).
So it sounds like you had the MDTS turned off at first, which made both cannons shoot straight, and then you turned the MDTS back on, so now the particle cannon doesn't shoot straight.
Not a bug, just the way targetting works.
You really don't need to start over.

Well heres an update I have tried everything I could try, from restarting the game and reloading my saved games trying all keyboard commands. Everything all you kind people suggested and nothing seems to work to correct this issue, as the pulse gun still shoots way off to the left and beam is straight. I have had to start a fresh game as I can't get the one gun to shoot straight.
Thanks for your help to bad a bug hit me, I was doing well for the first time in the game since i got it a few days ago.
Thanks Again

Hello, I should have been a bit more clear. If i start a new game with a new Character it is fine, and the guns shoot straight. It is only my current saved games from my old character that are goofed up.
I am using a mouse and keyboard to play the game. I also am able to recreate the bug, or very close to it. Basicly when i plot a distant course and i press F2 and while in warp or travel if i press strafe right or left or adjust my heading while in warp i get the error. It does take a while but it fixs itself and shoots straight again.
But my old game it won't fix or correct itself. So I simply started a new game and deleted most of my old saved games as the were bugged.
Thanks in Advance

Sounds like you're just drifting nearly as fast as your particle gunfire can travel (which is possible in this game). Particle gunfire is adjusted by your weapon system to compensate for drift, angle, and velocity, so you always get an accurate shot in the direction the MDTS or gunsight is pointing. Here is an excerpt from a thread regarding this topic ( http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtop ... 1#pid33263 ):
Yes, velocity imparted, reverse inertia firing. Modern jet fighters have their gunsights indicate projected bullet direction, this game instead makes the shots line up with the gunsight. So the cannons compensate for any inertia to make sure the shots track the exact point the gunsight is indicating, rather than falsely indicating where the shots will go. This is why particle cannon shots appear to be fired at off-angles when sliding at high speed, they are actually being fired with reverse inertia already imparted to them to insure an accurate shot relative to the gunsight.
For the profile that seemed to not be shooting correctly, it may actually not be shooting anything at all for particle guns. You may have inadvertently uninstalled your particle weapon last time you docked, so all you're getting is beam cannon fire. Next time you load it, open the inventory console and observe what is listed next to 'Particle:'. If it says 'None', you don't have a particle cannon installed.

Hello,
Yes i know about inertia with but maybe that makes a bit of sense too, as when i try to dock or undock I have noticed my ship is side slipping. But again only in my old saved games. Well as I said the guns used to fire straight but not anymore in my old game, no matter if I am docked with a ship in space, right at the point as i hit undock. No Idea if that makes sense but i hope so, if i new where the saved games were I would upload my last bad save that I kept to rapidshare and you would see what i mean.
Any ways no biggie right now unless I get the problem again.
Thanks

Hello, thanks for the help but I have not tried online game yet and don't know how to connect at this time. I was trying to learn the game a bit before I go online. I guess I could try online and see how I do with it.Originally posted by Eclipse
I will be on the SW main server for a while, if you'd like some help sorting it out.
Thanks

You might not have centered your strafe in the one game you think you have a bug, and might be sliding side ways or up or down. try centering your horizontal slide and your up and down slide so that they are both zero! If you saved the game while sliding using your strafe and reload the game the strafe will still be active at the setting you have set it when you saved. Hope this helps!;)

The description of dropping from warp and seeing the gunfire return to 'normal' explains that issue. The other just sounds like a control issue (uncentered for example, as Maars points out), although why it would be limited to only one profile seems odd. You can upload your profile for us to check it out. Profiles are stored in the default c:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegends folder under the filenames pilotX.sw where X is a number from 0 to 7 indicating the slot for the save.Yes i know about inertia with but maybe that makes a bit of sense too, as when i try to dock or undock I have noticed my ship is side slipping. Your profile is fine. What you'll need to notice is how close you are to that star. Your ship is being pulled in by the star's gravitational force (note the gravity gauge reading a positive number), so when you turn around, you'll see your gunshots being fired at an angle to compensate for the gravity. As mentioned above, your weapon system does this so the shots still line up with the gunsight. Move away from the star so you are outside of its gravity field and you'll see your shots simply adjust for your ship's movement only rather than also compensating for any gravitational forces.

I forgot about the Stations near planets and stars that affect the gravity. That is possibly what is happening!;)
