quick question about destroying asteroids.

Hi All, new to the game and am really getting into it! One quick newbie type question. What is the most effective weapon to destroy asteroids? I saw the contract to destroy 20 asteroids and tried shooting them w/ my standard "FlareBeam" but did not put a dent in them. Any tip would be much appreciated.

Any partical cannon. Just be sure to get close enough to inflict damage. When you see sparks fly, then your weapons are hitting. If not, you are too far away.

Hi Slouching, welcome to the Game and Forum! Yes asking questions helps, asking alot of questions helps even more. I did not ask any questions in the beginning and was never able to destroy the astroids till I got much further in the game waisted a lot of time trying to destroy those Astroids flying in to them like a kamikazi!LOL:P:P:P
