Dying would likely set you back far enough to take you out of the race anyhow I would think... Unless people are dying left and right

Two things. One, I think if death takes you out, it will become a FFA. Two, if people are firing enough, damage might leave any single survivor exposed to a respawned player.

well if it does become a FFA we just need to remember at some point somebody's going to try and slip away and make for the finish line, so focusing on shooting people down won't work.

I will be running a few legs so it will be based on a point system.

I personally think the dying and quicksave cannot be easily explioted, so it should cause a huge problem. Since the time for dying and respawning will give you a fairly big time penalty and jump drives is not allowed so catching up will mean people in front of you need to die... so the key is avoid fighting and dying as much as possible... BUT... if this does become a problem... the next event will have revised rules...

This competition is still in its early stages... so it will take time to get it perfect... next event will be a team based fighting event for those who likes fighting...

I remember racing vice a couple of times with weapons, I don't recall there ever being a death, but it did affect the outcome of the race! ( I think Vice keeps a repair system nearby now

Actually, a race part can be add to Verb's leagues. A championship season, like F1
