Ok....so usually I'm a pretty smart guy and so far I LOVE this sim....but can't figure out how to answer the text chats in the upper left corner during gameplay. A play named "Ben" said hello and I wasn't able to respond...

...(Sorry if you took that personally Ben) Is there a place to DL a list of commands that can be used during gameplay?

Usually, you press the "Enter" key to initiate chat. In some special situations, a chat window already exists.

Hello and welcome.

For multiplayer chat: Enter -> Type -> Enter

For private chat: Target the ship you want to send a message to -> Alt-Enter -> Type -> Enter

For a quick keyboard reference, open the instructions (game's main menu - > View Instructions, or Training - > Open Instructions), then click on the link near the top for the keyboard image. It's mostly high contrast colors, so you can usually print it as is with good legibility.

During the game, you can also enter the exit menu, then click on Configure Controls, then click on the option to configure key and button controls for an in-game list of options.
