retrieving blasted cargo
I'm having trouble locating cargo from ships I've blasted. I see the white letters that say "960 Elect 11" or whatever, which indicates its distance. But in what direction? It doesn't show up on my scanner that I can see as a pink dot. And if I try to keep the white letters within my view to follow them, I can never find the stuff. What am I doing wrong? I have a level 3 or 4 scanner - I think 4.

Look for the white blip on the radar, not pink. Color codes for blips are on the radar display itself:
LOW (Green) - Low threat level.
MED (Yellow) - Medium threat level.
HIGH (Red) - High threat level.
CAR (White) - Cargo.
STA (Blue) - Station
NOID (Purple) - No ID, object.
LOW (Green) - Low threat level.
MED (Yellow) - Medium threat level.
HIGH (Red) - High threat level.
CAR (White) - Cargo.
STA (Blue) - Station
NOID (Purple) - No ID, object.

Yes, look for the white blip and watch your speed, if you go to fast you will over shoot it and if you go to slow then it might take you a while to get to the cargo! So control your speed!;)
