I've been making a killing selling the things when I get anti-matter for cheap. A few questions though...
1. What is the minimum amount of anti-matter it takes to make one?
2. Can you get anti-matter from somewhere other than the market?
3. Is it possible to buy the minimum amount of anti-matter then buy more in a different cargo slot?
4. Anyone know what system pays the most for converters?
As you can see, I try to be a lucrative specialist when it comes to purchases. If it's decided to be a spoiler to answer my questions, no problem. And if anyone wants a discount converter, let me know. I'll gladly arrange a transaction below market value.
(1) 25 Units.
(2) 2 places: the markets, and any containers you might find.

(4) In the Nav Map -> Quadrant Map -> "Economy", look for any high-economy system. The best area is the lower right corner - towards Pearl / Deneb.
(3): Yes, but there isn't any reason to for what you are talking about? question (1) = 25 units, a full cargo bay.
Here is a snippet I from the forum that I saved in my own notes:
Item placement for beginners:
If you right-click a weapon or item in the shop, it'll be transferred to your cargo hold.
If you right-click an item in your cargo hold, the game will try to install it in a free slot.
If you left-click a weapon or item in the shop, the game will try to install it in a free slot.
If you left-click an item in your cargo hold, you'll sell it.
Commodities behave a bit differently. Leftklicking them will sell/buy the whole lot, while rightclicking will
buy/sell a single unit. This can be rather useful of you need 25 units of a commodity for the constructor,
as single units are added to an already existing cargo, up to the maximum of 25.
Maarschalk, I haven't found that type of ordinance, or if I have no one has offered good money for it. I would go looking, but I don't have the best ship yet, so I run into difficulties when in terribly hostile systems.
Storm, I've made a converter with 18 units of anti-matter.

A good way to start making money is in Saphire, sell your stuf at the Rivoch Station! There you get the highest price in the Saphire System for what ever you sell!;)

I manage to find a good bit of anti-matter between Sapphire and Olympus, usually running 20K. I then sell it in Olympus for 1M. Not a bad bit of profit since it keeps me clear of most hostiles and I refuel for free.

Sounds interesting. The only reason I've enjoyed the converters is cause I can trade them in between contracts and I only get 3 at a time, dropping the number of bays I need so I can boost my shields. Of course, don't need shields in Sapphire. Hmm.
Okay, so I press F1 to change nav points, but when I right click on a given sector of space, it zooms, but shows no objects. Every so often that happens, so I can't be precise with my jump until I'm closer. It just now cost me my life. Is this a known occurrence and is there a solution?
Avoid trying to zoom in on sectors with mismatched SY coordinates (elevation). Rotate the nav map to make sure the sector you are targeting is on the same SY elevation you are.

This means you are usualy a sector or more above or below the Galaxy's ecliptic plain make sure to change your view from above to rear to see objects in your plain! Galactic plain is SY=0. If SY=1 your one sector above, if SY=-1 your one sector below the plain!;)
