I have Evochron Renegades and love it.

I think the trial is too limited.

It's not long enough to check out the trade improvements, and the single sector limitation means you can't check out passenger transport or combat.

The feature list of Evochron Legends makes it sound like the upgrade I've been lokoing for, but I don't want to blow my toys budget for the month only to find it doesn't add enough to the experience for the money.

I expect I'll end up buying it anyway, but though this would be valuable feedback.

Ciao,
Sheldon.

Are you speaking as someone who had already bought Renegades?

Keep in mind, I already have Renegates and it's legends or Team Fortress 2 this month. :-)

well I have both and I'd agree with LtCasey, but I'm a fanboy!

in regards to specific points.

1. try the training mode, you can skip through the actual training part, and spend unlimited time
2. attack some other ships, this will change your rep, and thus enable you to enjoy combat, as well as check out other contracts
3. there are passenger contracts you can do within the sapphire system, both sapphire to new hope and sapphire to glacier runs will appear from time to time.

Actually, I have both, and enjoyed Renegades very much. EL is so much improved, you will love it, definetly. I didn`t play ER online, but for "Legends" I will. Check out Verbosity`s dynamic server project. Link is in his signature. Enjoy!

Teamfortress 2 will appear on some gamemag cover for sure, someday.

Hi, I got the game due to the strength of the demo, I think the demo length was fine, quite a few games set the demo length as much shorter, you also need to remember that the starting system is pretty safe, but shooting stuff does give you a limited taste in combat, of though in fairness combat against enemy ships is tougher still, friendly ships that turn hostile are push overs, but still I have no real issues with the demo at all, the full game is more fun, and something Im still learning to grasp, haven't got that far into the game, but getting a little better each time

It is defenitely worth it, but to enjoy Legends to its fullest I would finish the Beacon guest in the Renegades game first. Although the quest is still in Legends but the end is a little different because Legends is almost like a sequel to Renegades! And there is a complete new Beacon quest in Legends besides the Renegade one!;)

The ONLY reason that I can think of NOT to upgrade from Renegades to Legends would be system configuration. Legends demands just a LITTLE more performance from your hardware. Otherwise it is truely worth it.

though you could wait till Evochron: Vista comes out, double the requirements for a slight graphical improvement

Well what I mean is that EL needs MORE SHIPS and engines and wings and stuff...
Also maybe some non alliance ships? Federation :P lol or maybe some Sol ships which are cool.

It also needs more equipment and gunz... maybe even have more guns or less depending on the ship!!! Like missle hardpoints...

Vice is god. Buy it or burn in hell forever.

I was pleased with Renegades... but I was impressed with Legends. It's a polished version of Renegades. It's like X3R vs X3TC. Same game, more or less, more features, more polish.

Yes, if you played Renegades, you can skip Renegade Quest and go on.
I have last 3 games of the series(Arvoch-Renegades-Legends), every game has different feeling, some kind of charming or something.

You are going to say the last word of course.

But EL's missions are awesome...
Good flying.

Yes it does except for the last beacon no. 10 of Renegades (Ooops, Spoiler!) is not there in Legends, because the story line has changed!;)
