Unofficial IRC Server

Hi all, some time ago I've read a post about some players are wanting an IRC server for chats amongs members of the community who are not currently in-game due to various reasons, or have instantaneous conversations with other players without giving out personal details such as email, MSN, ICQ, etc...

I've also read posts where players also suggested IRC for in-game... but thats not something I am capable of so I will leave that to Vice, if that is feasible at all...

So, I thought I will setup an IRC server on one of my servers as the unofficial Evochron IRC server...
I will keep it online for as long as the community wants it to be online, or until an Official service which will replace it.
I am quiet happy to host this service forever... I hope you guys will find this useful...

Server Information
irc.conceptfury.com : port 6667

It is strongly encouraged that players register their nicknames to avoid impersonation...
The general guidelines for Nicknames are to be the same as their in-game or forum name...

Clans are welcome to create registered and/or private channels for their own usage...
It is also strongly encouraged that channel names remain simple... such as #SW or #StarWolves for example...

P.S.: For those who should be given appropriate privileges to the server for moderation, please kindly contact me and I will have that fixed up...

I hope everyone will find this useful... for those who are not familar with IRC, post here and I and/or possibly others will help you...

For your curiousity, I run a group of Windoze based servers... so I am running ignitionServer and its associated services...

Not to steal the thead, but there is also a TeamSpeak server available for users to use voice communications during their online play. No worries about hitting the wrong key and launching a Fulcrum Torpedo that way.

Thank you Exim for putting up an IRC server. For all those that play multiplayer and even those that don't I would highly recommend getting onto this. IRC is a very light weight chat that can be run in the background and can be used to simply idle as well as keep in contact with those who play the game without having to actually have the game running.

both clients are pretty good warsign, its more personally opinion

I use Mirc myself ( cause I paid for it, I'm gonna use it....)

The IRCd server and service has been upgraded... those who have registered their nicknames please register again...

Many features have been added...

Well, I'll steal the thread too. we have a Ventrilo server which has, IMHO, better voice quality than TeamSpeak available for use also. Just join our forums at www.asylum51.com, download the free client and get the details to set up your client to log into our server. You can use it even if you are not using our Evochron server.
