Vice, would you be able to do something in next patch
to fix the problem with the cannons & lasers? The problem is
for some wierd reason, you set it to cannon, then after a while
it auto resets back to laser... very dangerous in a large close
fight.
meantime, I'm going to have to remember to check guns.

The only time that should happen is if you accidently hit the N key during gameplay (like if the multiplayer chat doesn't open and you start to type a message with 'n' in it). It doesn't toggle itself that I know of under any other circumstance.

As far as I know, I don't hit N. For me, N is set speed to targets.
I don't fire both together as it uses too much energy, laser doesn't seem to do too much unless he's spiraling... n cannons have alot more punch... so given just cannons, you have more energy you can pummel him longer on higher yield weapon. I've got Maxim Cannons 120y, 100c and Fusion lasers 200y. Cannons last nearly 10 seconds b4 exausted... n that's a kill in one pass.

Lasers are there to weaken shields, actuall damage is minimal, but they reduce shields faster than cannons do
depends on who you are shooting at really, good mixing between weapons ( lasers then mixed then cannons) can really speed up a kil, esp in PvPI've got Maxim Cannons 120y, 100c and Fusion lasers 200y. Cannons last nearly 10 seconds b4 exausted... n that's a kill in one pass.

What have you mapped cycle weapons to? Whatever key it is would be the one that may be getting accidently pressed periodically. I guess your keyboard could be transmitting an invalid key press. Otherwise, the weapon cycle system is locked into the key/joy map function exclusively and I can't think of a way it would just switch on its own.

I have N set to match speed, M to MTDS... E to cycle guns... use that cause its next to thrusters. It's wierd, it happens all the time, and randomly... even if I walk away, and come back, I'll often find them reset.
My config is a 3Ghz Gigabyte, with 4Gb ram, 9600GT Nvidia with 1Gb vid ram, running XP. Keyboard is Logitech G15 (later model - piece of crap - doesn't program which is why you buy it, to program it. Nice idea logiT).
Game controller is basically keyboard/mouse.
