Hired Engineers Job?

I have been Playing Renagades for a while only twice in MP (short time)
Have 3 Billion in credits and all fancy equipment, been evrywhere, thanks to all the spoilers! lol

I just started Playing Legends, and Have a Question for all you expirienced and Wise people out there.

Why does the hired engineer do squats, pullups, but not a darn thing to repair a damaged ship, what am I paying him for, to stay physically fit?

It says in the strategy for Renegades that he supposed to repair the ship faster then the automated repair system. If I have an engineer and no repair
system my ship does not get repaired when docked(I gues engineer takes a break), or in space(I guess he is doing his physical fitness training). This also is the same in Legends.

I thought he makes the repair systems work faster, rather than replaces the repair system.

Thanks spelk

I did not notice the difference with the C3 Repair System!

I thought so to, maybe I did not pay much attention to the speed of repair with and without the engineer. I'll check it out!

Anyway to me the Strategy guide gives the impression that if you have an engineer you do not need the repair system! Would be nice though, one extra slot for equipment!

:P

Without a repair system, the engineer does not have the toolset necessary to repair the ship. It's like keeping a toolbox away from a mechanic, then asking him to fix your car with what he has on him. The repair system is a complete array of tools needed to fix ship subsystems and hull damage. They can be controlled by computer (automatic) or used by a skilled engineer with faster results. In Legends, a skilled engineer (100) can double the repair speed, effectively giving you a C6 repair system.

Thanks Vice,

Yes!, Repairs go faster with engineer, I always had an engineer so I never noticed the difference without one!, I just noticed that with out Repair System, repairs were not done .

Now if only we could tape an engineer to the fuselage of a military craft that would be handy :P
