Delivery Missions

1) Will I encounter new more difficult missions after raising standings with a solar system or by visiting a new different solar system?

2) I can't complete the cargo delivery mission to a moving ship...I can't tell which way is the bottom of the ship. Also I tried both top and bottom and just opened inventory and clicked the cargo to dispose of it. I do not complete the mission then either.

I forgot if I had any more...but I'll be back with more!

1- actually, raising your rep in a sys, you will get fewer different missions.the fair and moderate sys have the most diverse missions available.More difficult missions can be found the farther out you get from sapphire.

2- Fly to bottom of ship(not even sure you have to be at the bottom) and hit the "j" key to jettison cargo.

Awesome those answers will help me a lot.

I just remembered:

3) Why can't I see the number of players in a server before I join? And when I join can I see some sort of 'who is playing' list?

You can by right clicking on the server. However, one or more of the servers may be running an older build that doesn't support it at the moment. But once updated, the option will be restored.

That can be tricky for newbies (I'm one too). The capital ships don't always have obvious tops or bottoms. Here's what I've been doing. After you take the contract and leave the station or planet, go to autopilot, which will lock onto the destination waypoint. Going to autopilot also rolls your ship over to align with the game's coordinate system, which will help you figure out where the bottom of the target ship is.

Look for the nearest capital ship at the waypoint. Approach it from the rear, line up with the axis and fly under it (using the autopilot or "F" formation follow alignment to find the belly side). Fly along the capital ship's axis and keep hitting the J key, over and over. You might have to fly further than you think towards the nose of the target ship before you'll get a delivery confirmation. If you slow down and get "stuck," it's because you're too close to the ship (some interaction with the shields?).

top or bottom doesn't matter as long as you close to under 750

I usually subtract 500 from the Y coordinate that the system enters when I accept the assignment. Then I make sure my pitch is at 0 and jump with inertial set on. This put me just below the capital ship, moving fairly quickly. When I get close to the center of the ship I turn on IDS. Get's the job done quickly and easily.

The only problem I've had with this in Legends is that if I turn on IDS too soon, then I can't seem to keep up with the ship and have to use after burners to get close enough.

Welcome aboard Hockosi.....I set my directions to 0 and my pitch to 0 then jump. you will arrive in front of the ship and then you can fly down underneath to jettison the cargo using the "J" key. ;)
