maybe someone can help me with this. I'm having trouble with minor things in this game (such as trading...I see some ships who want to trade with me, and yet I don't know how to request any specific cargo from the ship...like say...electrical units they hold in their cargo hold) so I was wondering if there was an instruction manual I could refer to

anyone know where I can find one?

and if you have an answer to the trading question that will work too! :) thanks

I'm also having trouble reading the radar and don't know how to interpret where an objective waypoint would be as opposed to all the other green/yellow dots/ships out there in space. Anyways, thanks in advance

Oh, I apologise for the double post...but another thing crossed my mind...in the ship assembly screen...what are "hard points"?

1. Press F4 for trading after target the ship you want to trade with.
2. You can find instructions under the start menu>legends>...
3. Objective waypoint is white unique dot. Many missions, you don't need to rearrange it, just press F2 to jump there.
4. Hardpoint is, missile racks...

Good flying...

thanks for the help. one more troublesome issue...it seems that I cannot zoom out the waypoint map as far as i'd like. I check the territory section and I see regions of space that I can't even approach in my conventional map. it seems that the farthest i can zoom out is within my own system...I watched my friend play this game and I swore his map was able to zoom out much farther...or am i imagining things?

my apologies for all the noob questions, but so far, this is an excellent game! im loving it

1. Be sure last version of the game you had(v 1.028 for now).
2. You will see "zoom factor" at the bottom left of the Nav map.
Max zoom in/out factor is 8x. You can use this to compare.
3. You can edit your message by pressing to edit button like me :)
If you are uncomfortable with double posts...

Yes, it is an excellent game, I'm with you. :)
Welcome again.

As far as I understand it, you can zoom out to the level of the current system. You can fly beyond that, but your NAV map is limited to those dimensions of a system. You can however, click on the Quandrant map button to see a higher level overview of the systems.

There is also a Strategy guide for Evochron Renegades that covers a lot of information applicable to Evochron Legends, so its worth a read as well.

To add to what Warsign has already posted, your hardpoints are the areas on your craft where you can mount and fire missiles from. Some ship hulls have only a limited number, I think your starting ship has 4, and larger more expensive hulls have 8. You can fill these hardpoints with different missiles, by buying them at a station, or you can equip something like the Excalibur missile pack, which fits in the first hardpoint, and fires a volley of 8 renewable missiles. You do need the full 8 hardpoints to equip and use the Excalibur missile pack.

A question I'd like to add to the hardpoint debate, is with an Excalibur missile pack installed, can you also add other custom missiles to your loadout, or does the Excalibur use all 8 slots, even though its only displayed in the top one?

As a further guide for your radar, there are six boxes in the middle of the radar, three on each side. Each one gives you an indicator for what each color of dot means. Starting on the left:

- LOW (green) = low threat level ship
- MED (yellow) = medium threat level ship
- HGH (red) = high threat level ship

Then on the right side:

- CRG (white) = cargo
- STA (blue) = stations
- NOID (purple) = objects (gates, containers, etc)

The current nav point is marked with a yellow X on both your nav map and the 3D radar. The current waypoint is marked with a green X on both your nav map and the 3D radar.

Wow.
To be honest, I would not have figured out any time soon to look for a Renegade manual to help me with my Legends issues. Everything becomes much clearer, but why is this thing not mentioned anywhere? I actually had a hard time figuring out what the difference between my mounted shield and the boosters were until this guide clarified it, and that's by far not everything. I think there should be more references to this manual for new players.

I think there will be a version of the strategy guide coming out for Legends, sometime in the future.
