So, what else is there to Renegades?

Alright, so I've been playing awhile, and I've hit a bit of a rut. All I do is mine, sell, upgrade weapons. Is there anything else to do here? I mean, I know there are contracts, but all of them I've encountered so far are the same race/deliver/retrieve/kill scenarios. And somewhere there's an actual story quest that I haven't found yet. But is that the gist of the game, or am I overlooking something?

I'm not complaining, I just want to know if there's a big chunk of entertainment I'm overlooking.

I understood that you didn't start beacon quest yet, right?

If ok, watch the video very beginning of the game.
Lecturer says where you will start it through the end of the video.

Ah, yeah, I guess I need to watch the intro vid again to find out about the beacon quest. I've been meaning to look into that.

And no, I haven't tried MP yet. I haven't even looked at it. But I'm not sure what could be different about it... unless there are custom quests, and the simple fact that the "hostiles" will be a much better shot!

I'm also considering a jump to Legends. The screenshots look amazing!

Totally off subject, I had a funny encounter planetside last night with a hostile that wanted to sneak up on me while I was mining. Unfortunately for him, the AI wasn't bright enough to realize he had a weak cannon and I had my shields boosted to max. Even sitting stone still, he couldn't touch me, and I got to pick him off at my leisure and never stopped mining. Nuthin' come between me and my money!

Beacon quest's worth is big enough.
You have to finish it,really...
I don't believe, you didn't see any Vonari yet And Riftspace. You didn't play Renegades still.
Then play Legends. You will understand what I mean...
Mp is different world. Alien clans, human clans, friends, pvp, cvc all are awesome. Living space is much better sometimes. See you one day in Mp...

Hey, speaking of which, if you mod the skin of your ship (say, add some colors or something), will that carry over and be visible to other players during MP? That may be posted somewhere already, but I haven't looked into modding yet.

And no, no Vonari yet, I don't think (whatever they are...?). I've made a circuit or two of the map, and haven't encountered anything out of the ordinary angry rebels.
