I'm not sure how Vice feels about people reviewing his games...
But I had to post my love of this game on the Xplay Forums..Maybe it'll drum up some new players, or a review by the show( I doubt it), but atleast space sim lovers might find Legends a little easier.

Here's a link to the forum where I posted incase anyone else is interested. :)

Good review... and I had to LOL when I read it, as there is an epic censorship fail in your post... not your fault, but the G4 forum needs to be a little more discerning about words that it blanks out.

Last time I checked, cockpit had not yet entered the domain of foul language.

Its funny how that dude is complaining about framerates. Don't think he realizes the default mode seems to be locked at 30, which is plenty for a game like this. you don't need to, and can't spin around 180 degress in .02 seconds like you need to do in something like quake... the only kind of game where super high framerates are needed.

Good work TK, spread the word and others shall flock to our cause! The poster complaining of poor frames claims that his specs aren't too weak , yet compared to the system I'm running, they are a fair few years out of date to say the very least. No wonder he's having frame issues, most likely he's using max settings, and with that spec there's obviously going to be problems.

Yup, those specs may not even be sufficient for minimums and he might be lucky to be getting 10 FPS. Odds are, if he's running a feeble 128 MB video card at 10 FPS, his system does not actually meet the minimum requirements... it could indicate integrated video that is using system RAM as video memory (dedicated video memory is listed in the requirements for a reason). His system needs 'speeding up' if he wants to play this game above 10 fps, he probably just doesn't have the hardware for it. 128 MB integrated video is not the 'average' gaming machine today, his information is out of date in a similar way that his machine likely is. And I'd guess you are right, he is also trying to use maximum settings on that system.

That said, Evochron Legends is designed more for mid to high end systems with much higher graphics and detail, Renegades would likely perform much better on an older/slow system like that.

yea..I figured that person prolly just tried default install and did not pay any attention to specs or how to change settings to get better performance. I followed up with a listing of the minimum requirements. Which are fine, my laptop has a 128mb dedicated video and intigrated audio, it runs EL fine. I did have to adjust the settings to get it to run 1920x1080 smoothly. But I only occasionally get any noticable frame rate issue and it's so quick it's not really worth mentioning. Certainly any other modern Space Flight Sim will have the simular system requirements. In any case, most of the gamers I know keep their systems upto date and would have no problem running EL. Just my little pennies worth :) I am trying to keep the posting positive anyways..catch more flies with honey...more support for future Evochron games :)

Spelk, thats a very good review. All very positive.

Well done. Vice should get more hits it the world reads that - mind you there will always be some smart*** who will focus on the negatives. I can't see any myself, but "Only 32 in MP" will surely upset somebody, but if they want to play a sim with more than that at one time then they are welcome to it!!!!

In my opinion, 32 players is more than enough for this game, and anyone that complains about such a size needs to resubscribe to EVE.

EVE....what a waste of what could have been a great game...I was so encouraged when it first started...but then it just became a big chaotic mess...there is not much you can do 'lonewolf' with out getting 'jacked'. Now if you could put EVE's graphics, Freespace2 combat, and EL's trade, open gameplay, and planetfall all in one game...I'd never leave my simpod. I'd have to have redbull in a Intravenous feed and a catheter. :D
