Post by d1rtysouth36 »

How did you jump out? If you used alt-f2, and had an attitude greater or less than 0 on your pitch ladder, you probably jumped out of the "galactic plane." You can check this easily by doing one of two things: Check your current coordinates. If your y coordinate is any value other than zero, you are below (or above) the gate, and so when you click on the gate, you are actually clicking on the quadrant above or below the gate in the plane which you are in. The other way to check this is to rotate the map to look at it from the side view. There is a button located on the nav console on the lower right hand side that will allow you to do this. If you rotate the map, you can very easily see if you are out of the plane with the rest of the system. Simply click somewhere on that plane to set a nav point within that plane and jump to it, then rotate the map to view it from above and you should be able to right click on the gate again. Alternatively, you could manually set a jump point by changing the destination values in the top right hand corner of the nav console. Just set y to 0, make the jump, and then you should be set to right click on the gate again. Hope this helps!

Also, one of the few bugs that seems to be hard to pin down has to do with this. It only happens once in a great while, and I'm not sure anyone has been able to report EXACTLY what they were doing when this happened. If it does happen, and Wasp's advice doesn't work out, just left click on the system while zoomed out, jump, and reorientate yourself by right zooming all the way in.

Check your sY-value, though. If its not equal to 0, you left the equatorial plane. However, if you run out of fuel, hop into multiplayer mode :)

I have seen similar issues. Take Starport 3... just south of Evo Station in saphire. Right click it from a zoomed out on the nav map and it is blank

Fly there ... still blank

only way I have gotten to it is manually enter coords

Notice that Starport 3's sY position does not equal 0.

Not unless you specify the correct elevation for the object you are trying to lock onto. Otherwise, you'll only be zooming in on the sector you are level with, which could be above or below where the object is. Rotate the map to make sure you get the SY elevation correct, not just the SX and SZ coordinates.
