Modding the HUD

Post by Tycow »

Right, totally newb question. I've downloaded one of warsign's HUD mods, what do I do with the files in the rar?

I've tried searching for the answer but can't find one.

Do I unrar it to the Legends folder, or do I plonk the rar in the folder?

You need to create a subfolder named "hud" in the Legends folder, and then unpack the contents of the rar into that.
To remove the HUD, simply delete the subfolder and it's contents again.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Ok, next newbie question.

I'm colourblind, and am having trouble telling the blue and purple radar contacts apart, as well as the yellow and green threat colours.

Is there anyway I can make the green more green (if that makes sense), and the purple/blue different?

Cheers! :)

If you download the renegades mod pack it should contain templates and instructions, the hud system should be the same for legends ;)

I'd try but I'm rubbish at photoshop and similar programs, but you should be able to recolour the template images to something suitable. I think another user mentioned this, so if you find yourself successful remember to post your works, not only will it help other users out, but we'll all think its cool and probably play with it....

You can do it with simple image software like Paint.

But dots in the radar, I don't know...

Yes, I'm certain I recall those files from somewhere. I think they looked like colored soft brushed dots.

There are also some decent freeware paint type programs available from download.com. Those might give you more color options than MSpaint.
