Intentionally lowering system reputation...

Post by Blackthorne »

Oh well...I've pacified quite a bit of mapped space, and now begin to miss those surprise assaults while refuelling a bit.

I know, I *could* start over (and lose the Evoch-C, which I've grown rather fond of), but with the reputation changes being saved midway it's become rather easy to improve relations in an often-frequented system up to the point where no more juicy combat contracts are offered.

Yeah, I know, I can always join multiplayer. But that's a stopgap measure at best. I'm running out of charted systems to fight in. And the uncharted are so uncomfortably far out, almost feels like commuting.

Is there any way to bring those people to loathe me again? Or do I have to carefully select my employers in the future, so that my reputation stays at "untrustworthy double-dealing soldier of fortune" by fighting for both sides?

If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

I've found that massacring a whole system is pretty good at lowering my reputation. My sincere apologies to the Pices Navy.

Will stirring up enough trouble allow my reputation level to decrease from "good" to "fair" and below? Or am I stuck once I improved it permanently?

(In which case I'd like to suggest a change to the system)

I'd like to test it myself, but I have very little time tonight and as such would prefer an answer.

-Blackthorne, on the run.

You can make it bad too, even after making it good :)

It's good to hear that reputation works both ways (I was a bit baffled that after some missions in MP I got the message that my reputation increased, despite it being supposedly stable in MP, and feared the worst - a universe at peace!).

Oh well, time to make a few shipping lanes unsafe again! ;)
