List of spaceships to dribbe over?
Hi all, looking forward to trying the demo out tonight, but in the mean time is there a list of flyable ships i can dribble over?
if not then it would be a great addition to the main website, everyone likes to see what ships are on offer

Well, the civilian frames are totally customizable, so no two ships will probably look alike, even if they share the same basic frame.
Basically, there are 10 civilian frames, and 6 military craft.
Talon
Pulsar
Saber
Raven
Striker
Phoenix
Hunter
Renegade
Centurion
Leviathan
Ferret
Aries
Wraith
Evoch-C
Avenger
Predator

I'm looking forward to the military frames, eventually, the civilian frames hold the most appeal for me at present due to their seemingly unlimited customisation options.
It's really incredible what you can do with your ship, as Blackthorne said, no two ships will ever be the same in appearance.
In any case, perhaps some pictures of the frames available would be a nice addition to either the site or forums.

I am with you Zenith.
Trade ships have endless combination and you can paint them also.
Military ships, you can't ---military rules
And military ships has no additional personnel
You have to fire your weapon ops, trade ops etc.....
But military ships are more agile...

thanks for the answers
yeah, i picked up on the customisation, and yes i am after a peak at the base frames. its always nice to spy out a ship you want to have just for its looks, even if you dont end up flying it that much cos it doesnt fit your play style. just makes for good window shopping when your looking at a new game.
download is almost done now, will get to see some of em for real soon

important lessons so far, clicking on the middle of a planet then clicking launch is a bad idea. jumping to a roid field is also dangerous. 5 hostile ships is bad odds for a newbie. green dragons breathing fire are strangely hypnotising.....
I tried the races out, the one vs the raven was easy enough, but i kept messing up the solo timed race by missing box's. I spent half my cash on tweaking the ship for speed and handling, so i think its mostly down to a problem between the joystick and the chair
Also where can i find a tractor beam? And on the lost item missions where it should show on standard scanners (i was careful to get the easier type of contract that didnt need a search pattern flight), what do i do when there are no cargo blips on the radar? is there any way to tweak the range of the radar? Also do i need any gear to scoop cargo when i find it?
is there a way to get a list of space ports and space stations so i know where alternative places are to dock? a bit like elite where you can pull up a system diagram that has the stellar structure shown with stations.

Once you've been in the game for a while, you'll see a message flash up on your screen, that new objects are up for sale, that's when you can buy your tractor/mining beam. I nearly went mad searching for the darn thing when I first started Legends.
The tractor/mining beam also scoops up drifting cargo.
You're Nav Map shows all the stations within range, you have the ability to switch it from showing "all" to stations/gates/objects - you can also keep a record of good spots, for say, mining, or selling, on your map log "Add map reference" or something like that. To use a predestined map reference, hit your map log, and then mouse click on your desired logged destination - you'll then have a waypoint set on your nav map, which a "jump" will take you to, if your ship has a jump drive with the necessary range. If you don't have the range, you'll have to do it in phased jumps.
Hope this helps!

didnt get much time last night to play, was watching BSG series 4
i did however get a few mins to mess about. found the afterburner, 4 times the speed, wooosh!!! also had fun burning up in an atmosphere, managed to get some afterburner boosts off pumping the front shields till i was almost out then drop the speed back (gotta love useful tips on the loading screen). also i could take her way above 750 and not get any burning, think i got up to full newbie cruising speed and only the AB make my ship glow. is each planet different with the max speed you can do?
got some more questions too. on the planet next to the place you spawn when you start the demo (not tutorial) i saw a large structure, like a monument. i flew round it a bit but found no way to interact with it. is there something i can do there?
also on the nav screen, what does the ping button do?
feeling a little less lost now, think i'm gonna try out some combat again now i've read some good tips on it (shoot down missiles, wait till they stop coming, close into gun range and keep the strafing thrusters going). once i've worked out if i can dogfight in this i should be ready to decide if i'm gonna get the full game

It's kind of broken down more into safe or not safe. Some have different atmospheric pressures that generally allow you to descend or not. Generally 1100-1200 is a safe speed in planet atmospheres. In a high pressure atmosphere, you can partially descend, but eventually the pressure gets high enough to crush your ship.is each planet different with the max speed you can do?
You might be referring to the nearby moon and not the planet Sapphire itself. If so, that's an old mining base, now used as an observatory. Nothing very useful for a mercenary, just scenery.i flew round it a bit but found no way to interact with it. is there something i can do there?
It pings your navigation sensors and updates the nav map. It's primarily used with probes, but can also update the map if old markers or icons are left behind.also on the nav screen, what does the ping button do?

I just got a wraith, no cargo bays but it more than makes up for that in how it handles . I can't wait to try the Evoch C but I may just stay in the wraith for a while. I'll just get rid of the tractor beam and put a stealth generator in that slot ( I'll be broke afterward but hey I've been broke to have a nice ride before)

and give us some screenies
just got enough for the 3rd civy hull on the list, found a nice station in a roid belt and have been milking that.
got another question tho, whats "buy licence" in the stations?
oh yeah, and the station in the asteroid, how do i dock with it? or is it a rebel one and i need to have good standing with the rebels before i can dock there?
still staying close to the starting zone, max 2 hops away from it at the mo, got a key now so i'm off the demo and onto the full game

You get a 25% discount on anything the station offers; it's shield will also protect you against enemy fire (singleplayer only) and you don't have to pay any docking fees.got another question tho, whats "buy licence" in the stations?
I believe it's a constructer type station, so you just fly into the box-like structure highlighted by the landing lights.oh yeah, and the station in the asteroid, how do i dock with it?

hmm, its got the blue landing lights on each side but when i get to the landing bay it pushes me out. there is no shield or hud landing guides.
its the one as you travel south from the start place. there is a giant roid with a station by it, and on the roid is a man made entrance to a cave system inside the roid. in there is another station that i cant dock with.
oh, another question. if when customising your ship you put one component at the max height and another at the min will the size of your ship reflect the changes? ie when spelunking do the aesthetics of your ship make a difference to how close to the cave you can get?
thanks for all the help so far, every-ones been very friendly and factual

Your ship can be as compact or sprawling as you want - the shield bubble determines whether you've been hit, and from what I've shot down, err, seen so far that one's is fixed for all ships and rather generously sized.oh, another question. if when customising your ship you put one component at the max height and another at the min will the size of your ship reflect the changes? ie when spelunking do the aesthetics of your ship make a difference to how close to the cave you can get?
So, feel free to supersize those wings and bolt an extra large engine on it, you know you want to.
