New guy, Dling now.
Hello everyone. I guess I'll add the usual bio on myself. First thing, I like freeform games. Games that don't put me in a tunnel and base the excitement off of cinimatics.
Sid Meier's Pirates & Civilization, The Elder Scrolls, Grand Theft Auto, etc.
In my search for a good space game, Ive played Elite, Freelancer, EVE, Space Rangers 2, Freespace, X2: Reunion, and several more I can't think of.
Frankly, beyond Space Rangers 2, I really havn't found a space genre game that holds my interest. It wasn't until I started looking for Feeware games that I stumbled across StarWraith. Quite frankly, from the screens, I cannot fathom why these games don't have more media attention? And if I heard correctly ONE person is doing all of this!? (I'm part of numerous mod communities, and have tried developing my own titles.... so excuse me if I'm in absolute awe.)
I'm downloading the demo as I write this, and in my next post will put together a comprehensive review detailing my likes and dislikes. (I'm downloading legends.) It will only cover the demo's SP portion, as I don't have a fast connection. (Barracks internet is the pits. >.<)
I guess that's about it. Thanks for reading. Carpe' Diem.

Hello and welcome. If you put together a list of things you may want added or changed to the game, please copy or send it to me in e-mail as that's generally the best way for me to keep track of such things (I sometimes can't check the forum for a while and may miss some things).

Welcome! All I can say is, this is one hell of a game, I doubt you'll find a better one for this particular genre. Considering Vice is the sole developer (as far as I know), the amount of work and content put into this game is simply staggering. There's definitely more than enough to keep the avid space gamer occupied for some time.

Well thanks for the welcome everyone! I foolishly thought that with my experiance I could just dive into the game and get to the review.
Oh... how niave we can be....
Vice, I'll definatly send something your way. As for the review, it could be a few days/weeks. The first thing I noticed was the controls. I myself don't have a joystick (and am in no position to get one for a while.) So the mouse scheme is a bit different then what X2: Reunion weaned me on. More on that after I finish the tutorial.

There are 3 different mouse flight control modes, one of the other ones might be more to your liking.

Welcome to Evochron!! And yes..Vice is a much under appreciated one man show!! There is so much more to these games than you can get from the demo. Just when I think I have an idea, I find it's already in the game in some form...I just had to ask or explore!...

Man, three seconds after I asked, I figured it out. I feel "dumb" for lack of a better term.
The problem is I'm playing the game in bursts. (The military has ALOT of downtime.... just not all at once...) Thanks for being patient, I tend to ask things before looking for myself.
