[SPOILERS] Main story / beacons - ending

Ok, I followed the beacons, got to the final place (really nice btw!), got congratulated by the final beacon

... now what ?
I thought I could recover the device and put it to some use, but if I try to beam it aboard I just get teleported away.
I'm sure there's something I'm missing, because:

Players who take on the challenge of the story quest and succeed will discover a very beneficial feature.

What am I doing wrong ?

Is it supposed to appear in the inventory afterwards ? Does it use cargo space or ?...

nope, what happened to you is what is supposed to happen, but think about what that device does ( and its too big for you to move it)

Not really.
You can't carry it.

If I don't miss something, game's final scene is not beneficial.
I found different thing, It affected me much.

I expect different ship, different weapon or something useful but no. Something more different made me smile and urged me to think all night long.....
