I'm loving the cave exploration. Cruising slowly through the dark, looking for loot, judging which passageways are just barely wide enough for my ship... it all creates such an excellent mood of suspense and mystery.
This game is fun.
I think that more than setting out to accomplish any specific goals, for now I just want to cruise the whole universe and see what there is to see. Call me an explorer at heart, rather than merchant, miner, or warrior.
Spelunking is fun.

Pay no attention to me!
I\'m just a weather balloon. And some swamp gas... uhh... refracted the light of Venus or something.
Yeah, that\'s it. Definitely not a spaceship, no sir.

Try out the system of Agate. It's near Sierra, and its full of exploration-focussed locations...

Haven't made it to Agate yet, but I'll get there eventually.
So today I decided to try the max-jump technique to get from one system to another without using a gate. I hadn't actually realized just exactly how much distance we're really talking about here...
Suddenly, in the middle of absolute nowhere, I meet a convoy of friendly ships. One of them says "Hello there, mercenary." So I decide to follow them. Eclipse is chatting with me, and suggests they're headed to a specific place, so my curiosity is really stirred up. I line up my ship's nose with their general bearing and hit the max-jump. Now I see more green ships. Hit max-jump several more times...
There's a whole planetary system hidden away out there, off the map, and everything is for sale.
This game is great.

I like extreme Spelunking, that is finding good points to jump into/out of asteroid caves, I've found several, and usually near good things
The one in agate has a nice feature which is good for tweaking my attempts at jumping directly into a city.
though It's a shame you can't mine in the asteriod caves, seems to make sensae to me that you'd be able to.......
