As I knew I would I'm having a blast with Evochron Legends. It has all the great features of the previous games and lots of new things to do, see, and make. It's the best $20 I've spent in a long long time.
Thanks for all your efforts and for keeping the space combat sim genre alive!
May your sales do as well as you have building a great game!
Gwen

Rather than making a new thread I thought I'd just post my praise in one that already exists. I stumbled upon the demo on Bluesnews yesterday, not familiar with your previous games.
I've been waiting for a game like this for ages. Freelancer was a ton of fun but it made me wish for a more detailed combat model like Independence War. The X series is very cool too but you need a full course in decoding their UI and upgrade tree before it you could get anywhere, and there's no mulitplayer.
On top of the cool flight model (HORRAY for toggleable IDS) and easy to navigate UI for inventory and trade, Legends has one of the coolest ship building features this side of Galactic Civilizations... and planetary descent/combat!
I also appreciate the small footprint it leaves on my hard drive, while still managing to look nice.
Your game owns, and I'm a fan. Hope to jump in for some multiplayer this weekend.

I agree with the others. The game is very good. The only problem that I have is that it takes 5 minutes to load into the game every time I play which can get annoying especially when messing with some of the game settings (trying to get trackIR working for instance.) other than that though I love the game.
S! and thanks for all of your hard work.

It shouldn't take 5 minutes, more like 60-75 seconds on most systems. So if it's taking longer than that, there may be something else running in the background that is hindering performance. Or the system may be low on resources. What are your system specs?
Glad you're enjoying the game otherwise.

AMD Athlon 2600 2ghz, 2gig ram, radeon x1650 on WinXP
The game runs fine on full setting at 1920x1200. It just takes 5-8minutes to load the game when I click launch.
Im going to defrag the hdd tonight and see if that helps. My system resources are clear as I have nothing running in the background (even most services shut down).
I figured the game was unpacking each time I play and then deleting itself to save hdd space?

Hehe, no, it doesn't have a decompress cycle, just media loading and creation in memory. That system should be a lot faster at loading. If you send me an msinfo report, I may be able to spot something else. A defrag is a good step and I'd make sure you have plenty of free physical memory available as well. Do you use AVG for your antivirus?

I use AVG but I disable it before playing games.

Have you tried terminating its persistent background task(s) in addition to the resident shield? If you want to send the msinfo report, here are the instructions:

The problem persists. I will just live with it. It is only a one time load when I launch the game so it is not that much of a problem. Thanks for the help trying to figure it out though.
