I'm enjoying this game very much. However, there is just one thing that I would like to request. Would it be possible to have an on-off option for the space dust? I know why the the dust is in the game, but I manage to get my visual cues well enough from the objects around me. Of course, when I am far from anything, this is less true, but then again I daresay that is how things would really be, at any rate.

Also, is there a way to turn off vegetation, but nothing else in terms of detail? I kind of liked the barren worlds in Renegades.

OK i have been playing since yester day. i find that if you can see what is flowing in to your ship when you are mining that if you focus on the last spot you got lets say Plat that there is more near that same spot but you have to have the inventory window up to see what your taking in And that makes the screen go dark. if you have more than 1 cargo bay. i'm requesting that the MDF on the right side console have a toggle between you inventory(at lests whats in your cargo bay) and the targeting info. i figure when your mining you don't need to see target info and i would rather see whats loading up in my cargo bay.. just a thought from us miners down here.

There are a couple of ways to do that. First, switch to HUD mode 1. This turns off the motion bars and the pitch ladder. If you want to keep the pitch ladder, just import a blank image for the motion bar texture. The filename is cyan.dds and you need to place it in the \\HUD folder (which needs to be created) in the game's folder. I have attached a blank example you can use.
Also, is there a way to turn off vegetation, but nothing else in terms of detail? I kind of liked the barren worlds in Renegades.
I knew that would come up eventually :) There were still some players that preferred the more 'blank'/'realistic' look of barren planets. I plan to include this option in the customizing kit (which should work much like the option above).

That one isn't too feasible. But as an option though, you can use a HUD text display option to render your cargo bay contents on the HUD. Details are in the Renegades customizing kit, which uses the same system. I can also post them here if you like.

Edit: hehe, Eclipse beat me by a minute :)

Vice, your solution works a treat, naturally enough. Out in the big black, thinks look motionless even at speed, and as a consequence, space seems a little bigger. Thanks for your effort, and more importantly, thanks for creating such an awesome game.
