Post your mess-ups here. I felt like posting the thread because I just was scooping cargo on the surface of saphire, wanted to see what I loaded and pushed F2 instead of F3... Flaming Death!!

I wonder if I could have aborted the jump by repeatedly pressing F2?

Whilst involved in some rather hectic PvP against Ping, Chesh and Fearless very close to the canisters in Pearl, I twice attempted to jump clear of incoming missiles only to collide with the canisters. This of course was much to the amusement of my fellow combatants as I burst into flames and vapourised myself:P:P:P;)

Shoot a Fulcrum Torpedo. It hit the target frontally.

In SP when I 1st got the game, I managed to get hold of a fulcrum torp.

"This looks good" I thought. Must be coz it cost so much! I worked my way around the systems, finding a good place to start a fight. Found a group of rebles that were making some trouble, so I let loose my new toy, watched it sail through space, and woundered why there would be a text warning about it!

Found out soon enough!;) Problem was, I had saved after buying said torp, and it was my only profile. So I died, and lost all my money, and all I got was "IckleChesh was destroyed"!!

LMAO........ Yoda Say's " You have to lose in order to win" ;) what a Hoot it is to hear of simple mistakes He He, using f2 to to get to the mining station in lost rucker station is a Classic.....set your headings off just enough to land right into a Asteroid upon arriving is always pretty funny :D. Aaaaah but the knowledge you get after each simple mistake is priceless!! Have Fun my padowans and remember to save ;)

I went planet-side to do some mining, forgot to turn ids off, used up all of my fuel, if i hadn't went totally dry I'd have been fine, I was just outside the docking city on the planet too, would have only taken 2 units to get back and refill............

Edit
Though thats nowhere as stupid as the time I implied I could take vice in a PvP :P

Edit 2
oh Yeah and I once tried to get Al to "put it on the tab"

I'm afraid I've done every single one of those before (except for those involving fulcrum torpedoes.)

Here are a couple more:

Went through a jump gate angled at an asteroid and pancaked,

(Repeatedly) decided to jump into a fight in Pearl whilst still facing the cargo containers that I had just used to arm my ship.

Naively jumped to a station occupied by Mehk and jovially said "hello," (and after finishing a long and arduous trade route, but without saving)

Frequently burned myself up in atmo because of an impatient finger too close to tab key.

Stubbornly refused to believe that I could not fly down to the surface of Wolf (roughly 20 times, though thankfully not all in a row)

Jumped to a sector in Thuban with my Mantis drive, saved my only profile, looked out the window and noticed that the nebula backdrop looked different. Called up the nav console and found out that I was 2000+ sectors away from civilization with only about 500 units of fuel. I wonder if that's why it says that Mantis drives are "experimental?"

More undoubtedly to come...

Did that with ship meet jumpgate hyper jump meet asteroid myself, and I did managed to fly through the black hole once, dunno how I did it though, also to ease the use of the jettison button i had asigned it to Caps Lock, then while on a delivery mission I hit shift instead, that whouldn't noramlly been a problem, if I weren't armed to the brink with Fulcrums......

Also when I started a new profile just for the fun of it the Jumpgate to Lost Rucker decided to migrate to the opposite side of the asteroid field, then when I FINALLY found it again I went in and immidietly pancaked myself on the asteroid that was hidden behind it

Another one from tonight:

I rebound some of the keys on my joystick, shuffling a few around and swapping a few commands out for newer ones which I thought might be more beneficial in combat. Later, I decided to try them out and reached up with my innocent little thumb to press a button that was SUPPOSED to balance my shields. Instead, I imploded very neatly and was given the "Wasp was destroyed" message. I quickly discovered that I had accidentally bound the self destruct command to my joystick button. Has anyone else noticed how terribly klutzy I am in this game?

Edit:

I also managed to flatten myself on one of the cargo containers in Pearl again tonight... I changed my mind about rearming at the containers after I had jumped in and immediately tried to jump out again without slowing down or changing course. FAIL.

found a new way to die today, jumped to a location for a delivery, then i got propelled right into the ship, that understandably suffering from a hurt pride decided to go hostile on me, so the ship I waas suppose to deliver cargo to sent me straight to the junkyard

LMAO :D.......next time use a compass heading of 180 degrees before you jump to come up directly behind the ship, at least then you will know where you will be heading.....also use reverse thrusters before you come out of warp to slow down ;)

This one takes the cake...

I was dogfighting the bugs in Vonari today. I had a bunch of them on my tail launching missiles at me, so I flipped around and shot the missiles instead of wasting precious CM's. I noticed that my lasers had accidentally been turned off, so I reached my big fat finger over to push the "n" key. Instead, I hit the "j" key. Keep in mind, I am traveling backwards... and do you know where your cargo is jettisoned? That's right... directly aft of your ship. So I essentially dropped a big immovable object right in my flight path. I bounce off of it, come to an almost complete stop and have just enough time to say "oh crap" (or some other expletive) before about 8 missiles collide with my cockpit.

To add insult to injury, when you jettison your cargo the game auto saves... let's just say I had a good 5 mil or so worth of recently purchased Stealth and Exodus missiles in my bays... all gone when I respawned.

EPIC FAIL.
