demo resolution error

Post by Nick »

well... i recently tried Evochron R. demo, and after pass the training mode and when i was ready to try demo, i decided change resolution: of automatic to 1280x1024. After i reinitalize the demo, never more i was capable of play it: the screen only shows a part of it. In the first screen with three options i only can choose Buy evochron, Right up in the corner. Then i tried uninstalling then reinstalling it but this not fix nothing.

Others glitches: The game not seems capable of configure the mouse buttons(i have a mouse with five buttons, and it would be really great this improvement)
The ALT keys seems not to work(The ALT pressed to liberate the mouse cursor for example)

I need Help to fix the resolution mess! Thanks.

hi,

In regards to the resolution, try uninstalling it again, then delete all the files in the directory you installed to, reinstall and it should work again. if you wish to change the resolution in future I think you need to change one of the settings to 'fixed screen'.

In regards to the controls, there are 3 forms of mouse control, try using another one, I believe the alt function for the mouse is only functional in one of the modes. I've never heard of the other functions not working, but once I accidently assigned alt to another function and it caused issues with me, possibly try resetting the controls and start re-assigning them again?

I can't help with the assignments of the mouse buttons, but I'm surprised that its not letting you assign them, what model and make of mouse are you using? It's possible Vice will be able to sort your issues for the next update of the game :)

For the resolution issue, reselect Optimized to allow the game to match whatever resolution your desktop is set to. You can also optionally delete the sw.cfg file from the game's folder and it will rebuild it automatically based on what it detects.

The alt pointer option works only with the 'Mouse Point' control mode, not the 'Mouse Direction' mode, which essentially converts mouse input into joystick control.

Rebinding mouse buttons is not currently available as an in-game option, partly because of multiple function dependencies and partly because buttons 3 and up lack proper support in the development language I use. Because of the limited controls of a mouse (generally only 2-5 buttons), control functions have to toggle in various stages/menus/options in the game, which makes swapping those functions somewhat impractical (particularly for buttons one and two). However, since you have a G9, you should be able remap the buttons to input keyboard signals for in-game functions. And this should be an option on the mouse itself as you can store up to 5 unique profiles in the device's memory. I would not recommend assigning/changing functions for buttons one or two since they are needed for specific functions that shift based on input need (flight control, menus, consoles, etc), which could create undesired input results.

I recently bought the mouse(yesterday) so i havent time to see all the features but ill install the configuration program to see...

I think you refer to an ability to press a key+mouse button to make it work, isnt it?

.Thanks for the help. And thanks for make this kind of games, a rare software, with such scope and possibilities.
