Ship Wings?

Post by Trifler »

I just downloaded the demo for Evochron Renegades and I've spent about three hours in the Shipyard already. :)

One thing I'm really not clear about is the wings. I read the Evochron Renegades Strategy Guide at http://www.starwraith.com/evochronreneg ... de.htm#203, but it only has a bar chart for the wings. According to the chart, Agility Factor decreases as Performance increases. I'm guessing that Agility Factor is how maneuverable the ship is, but what is Performance Increase? A solid paragraph of text under the chart would be nice.

Agility factor is the final maneuverability level of the ship with a particular frame and wing/thruster system. Performance increase is the overall difference in the maneuverability from the base wing/thruster system up to the top Nighthawk model. So you can see that even though the top wing/thruster set gives the highest frame a near 2X performance increase from the base wing/thruster system, the overall agility factor is still well below a lighter frame with a lower performing wing/thruster system.

So... just looking at the green bars then, it looks like the Archer (wing 2) doesn't offer any improvement over wing 1. Likewise with 8 and 9...

Nope, you start measuring at the black line on the blue bar. However, you can see that the improvement is marginal overall and only bumps the already high performance up slightly. The range of difference for all of them on a light frame is about 0.5 to 0.7 in agility while for a heavier frame that range is about 0.25 to just under 0.5, that's where the performance increase difference of about 50% and 200% come in between the range of frames through the range of wing/thruster systems.
