How do you plot a course on the sector map to get to a new system?

can you do it with enough gas? or are gates/holes the only way to go?

you can try without jumping, if you've got enough time you could hit inertia and get to earth if you wished, jumping wise? yeah you can use your jump drive, in fact its already been recorded that pilots have made the routes from sapphire to olympus prime and from rivoch to thuban that way.

wait till you have a c5 drive though

Well one thing I figgure out was to "zoom out" on the map and then I Saw lots of other options besides Saphire and the one gate... This leads me to another question:

WHy is it that when I go to another system, all of a sudden I get attacked by red ships? HOw does my reputation get bad if I havent done anything yet?

Every System is different and so is the attitude of the locals. Be prepared to run or fight at most times. Oh yah, and get a BIGGER ship (lol)

Just because you haven't done anything doesn't mean you won't be hated because of your origin and alliances. You start out in Alliance territory on friendly terms with the factions/groups in Sapphire, this automatically makes you a target for interests in Thuban, Pearl, and many other systems with competing or otherwise hostile groups. How you manage those reputations, change them, or even avoid confrontation with them is a big part of the challenge of the game. It's important to monitor the reputation status on the nav map as you enter new systems to get an idea of the kind of hostility you will encounter.

Take the Renegades. They hate you for a few reasons.
1.) You're not one of them.
2.) You're one of the Alliance...
3.) And they hate the Alliance.
The Alliance stopped them from completely ravaging Evochron.

Why shouldn't this apply to others, though in varying ways? The Federation hates the Alliance; in fact, the Alliance is their mortal enemy. Thuban is in Federation control.

I'm still haven't really been able to put the Renegades/Arvoch story together with the earlier stories - the problem is the gap between. We'll need some canon to fill that, so I can finally put that EvoClopedia up to date.
