Mapping system problem

Post by ASBOMAN »

The only time I have a nice blue background to my nav map is in max zoom in. As I zoom out each level gets covered with little coloured dots more so as I zoom out. The nav chart at max zoom out is totally covered and it is hard to make things out. Maybe once in 20 boot ups do I get a clear background, this is a tad annoying can anyone help ???

Hi CW......you can also cycle through what you want shown also...planets, stations, gates, objects or All. The button is on the lower right area of nav map.

I know about the text on/off and object display button, this is just strange, there is not any blue background, just a load of tiny coloured dots/squares. Once in a while its all fine but for the most the problem is there. I had hoped it would go away after downloading the last upgrade but it has not.
should I uninstall the game and then try a fresh download ?

Thanx for your suggestions though guys.

Sounds like video memory/texture corruption. Could happen if you are using flawed drivers or 3D hardware that doesn't support standard texture compression. It obviously doesn't operate that way normally. If you'd like to send me an MSINFO report on your system, I can take a look to see what in the configuration might be causing it. A few things you can try are to update your video drivers and try both the windowed and full screen modes.
