Warping bug.
Greetings...I have had the game for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. Unfortunately, my first post is a bug report. While mining asteroids, I have been warped away from them whenever a general system notice comes up. This has happened every time a notice comes up when mining. I think it's only happened in Sapphire, but I'm not certain. My game version is 1.708.

That "bug" has been fixed. You need to D/L the latest version.

I thought it was supposed to be fixed around 1.5 though.

It was supposed to be, I can't even duplicate it any more
If it happens again, please provide specific details, including the specific system sector you were in and your initial location.

This last time it happened, I had taken a contract from Starport 3 to clear asteroids and after the contract was completed, I mined.

Well, it doesn't happen every time a system message comes up, but every time it happens, it's after a system message. I tried duplicating it again and 3 messages came in without it warping, but it happened on the 4th. Same sector, but a different location.

Always after completing an asteroid destruction contract, or just randomly? Do you have the inventory console open or closed?

A little more testing resulted in that it seems to happen during an asteroid clearing contract and after finishing one. I had saved in the asteroid field and couldn't get it to reproduce until I went for another contract. Inventory open or closed doesn't seem to affect it.

Ok, where exactly does it warp you to? That is, what in-sector coordinates are you transported to exactly?

OK, sorry I haven't responded sooner...I've been a bit too busy to play recently and I haven't been able to duplicate it again. Some things have changed which may affect it, but you would probably know better than I.
I upgraded to 1.718.
My NVidia 7900gt was having some issues drawing in some games and I had it RMA'ed (as well as the one in my 2nd machine, a friend bought 1 at the same time as I did and his went bad, too..I think they had a bad batch or it's a card prone to overheating). Before sending it off, I upgraded to the NVidia 8800gtx. This was after my last post.
The frequency of system notices seems to have increased by a lot. During the asteroid mission, I was getting at least 1 notice after every asteroid destroyed and quite a few during mining. I tried mining during and after the contract without being warped.

Wow, there must have been a lot of ship traffic where you were. It can happen sometimes, there are surges in traffic and item exchanges/availability. Glad to hear it's not warping any more.

Ah, that's what triggers the notices...lol. Anyway, I've done a few more runs without warping, so maybe it's worked itself out. Just upgraded to the 1.8 version on the site, but haven't played it yet.

I actually had the warping thing happen twice to me last week. Both times were identical scenarios.
In singleplayer, in Lambda, I finished a contract for the Navy to take out bad-guys. The warp happened after I'd finished killing the four bad guys, and was approaching the cargo from a ship's debris to tractor-beam it in. When I got close, there was a glitch on my screen, the cargo disappeared, and the message appeared on my screen that new stuff was now available.
The first time it happened, I didn't know what had happened and didn't realize I'd been moved, even though what was outside my cockpit did look slightly different. I figured there was some time-out to grab leftover cargo after a battle, and my eyes were simply playing tricks on me. But the second time, whereas I'd been in open space approaching the cargo, when the glitch happened, suddenly the planet filled the right quarter of my screen, so then I knew I'd been re-located.
It's no big deal. I've done over 100 contracts, so for this to have happened only twice, no biggie. I'm only mentioning it because of this thread.

I just encountered this again, and have further data to report.
Had nothing to do with a contract at all this time. I was in the Lost Rucker system, heading for a container that my science officer had reported. So I was carefully watching my heading, 166, pitch 3, waiting for the purple blip to appear.
The "new items are now available" popped up on the screen and my ship was simultaneously switched to a heading of 0, pitch 0.

Did you warp exactly to coordinates 0,0,0 also?

Actually, I think I may have found it. I'll do further testing to see if what I've located could be the cause.

Ok, I think this is now finally fixed. There was a variable that wasn't clearing itself which could cause this. Version number is still the same, this update simply corrects the potential cause for the warping bug.

Do you ever tire of hearing how awesome you are? :p
Seriously, awesome support...too bad I didn't find your games sooner.
