I have really enjoyed working on my system reputation in Evochron....only 4 systems to go to have a majority of Fair systems. I prefer Fair as it allows me to have fun taking on some Hostile missions. Has anyone noticed a difference in accepting a bribe from a hostile during a mission ? does it affect your reputation for the good or bad ? How many missions does it take to turn a reputation for the good? I completed Aries today.....going from Hostile to Fair in just about 2 hrs, but Cygnus seemed to take longer...Let me know what you other pilots think....Good Flying.

If you accept a bribe during a contract and your objective is to destroy those hostiles, you will be making allies with the enemy you've been hired to destroy, so you risk not being able to complete the contract. However, in many cases, reinforcements will often fly in to help the hostiles, so you may end up with enough hostiles destroyed to complete the contract. If you get into a situation where you feel it is best to bribe rather than fight, simply cancelling the contract is an option, it's just not a recommended long term strategy.
How many missions it can take to shift your reputation can vary, it often takes at least a few dozens to make significant shifts.
Congrats on your efforts, that's pretty challenging to make that many reputation changes.

Congrats on getting your rep to fair everywhere, I have done similar but worked mine to good across all of the known systems.
I took a very long time to do some systems are very stubborn on the last reputation change. Now I am finding though something even more difficult ... and that is going the other way working my rep back in the negative direction. the problem I'm having is catching the cap ships, every time i get one within range it warps out lol (chickens
).
I mean whats a few fulcrums amongst friends
I'm reminded of a scene from the movie The Longest Day where the American paratrooper is talking to the downed British pilot and say's "You know I haven't shot my gun all day... I keep hearing shooting but every time I get there everyone is gone."

Thanks for the feed back...I did notice that I had to wait for some more hostiles to show up before the mission was complete. So now I have decided to wait till the end of the mission to accept the bribe when offered...I had a feeling that was going to happen, but it is a lot of fun and what's a few more hostiles to take out, plus it was a good way to pick up some more cash ( thinking outside of the box )....at least it did not automatically fail my mission, which is cool....LoL. Good Flying !!

All systems are Fair now and that really makes exploring less hazardous to your health...LoL....One point of interest, While flying online with a friend and helping him to complete contracts I actually changed my system rep from Fair to Good in two systems in my saved games , not in multiplayer mode ( after flying missions in one system then flying to another system for some more missions.) Some of the perks for helping out a friend.....Good Flying

Have you tried to change your Rep in the Nexus or Riftspace as it is called at times? I have tried and have not made any progress yet.

Is it possible to improve your rep in Vasari?

It is possible to change your rep in RiftSpace, but it is pretty tough to do. One player has reported they got their rep up to at least fair, possibly good by now.
As for Vonari space, there could be interesting results there

I have all my systems in the Known charted systems Fair and some Good....my bad. I sometimes forget about the Riftspace/Unknown systems. I have been to Riftspace and own a license at the 1st starport I found....really needed gas by the time I arrived. The docking fee was high and the station license was pretty high ( u2u me if you want to know the cost...don't want to put in any spoilers) . I had a great time earning back what I had spent, but I came back to the known system to help out a friend with his game play, so I did not spend enough time there to change my Reputation....Good Flying.

The lic cost of stations seems to be related to how much U are worth at the time. I just bought that lic also. Only 2 arms and a leg and a half (lol).

I have had some trouble with reputation. I am trying to get a good rep in just one sector, but I feel like Sysiphus. I get to 100% with navy and energy, but then the miners don't give me any more credit, no matter how many missions I do for them. So, I get lots of Navy missions to kill rebels, thinking that if I can decrease my rebel rep, my miner rep will go up. No such luck. the only rebels I meet are already hostile, so no bonus there.
In the end, I spent an hour or so in Sapphire, and I could not budge the reputation at all.
Worst of all, when I "save my progress," it doesn't actually "save" my "progress." It saves my money and ship information, but not the tedious hour I spent trying to improve my reputation, point by point. I know that when I load it again, I'll have to start all over again, redoing all that work, and more after that. I'd have to resign myself to several hours of nonstop reputation building, only to hope that my rep actually changes, though it seems to have reached a limit of some kind without allowing me to move forward after a bit.
Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Hi Nigel_Strange,
I hope the following info might help you:
1. Miners contracts: Hang in there....try getting different contracts at a different starport or on the planets in the same system...it can be frustrating, but you can do it.
2. Hostile Guild ships: The majority of the missions I had from the miners involved taking out mostly hostile guild ships (some were rebels, but the majority were guild). When I could not find any contracts from the miners I would leave the station and concentrate on taking out as many Hostile Guild ships I could find in the system I wanted to get a better reputation. I would check my reputation stats after taking out quite a few Hostile Guild ships and was pleased to see that my stats had indeed improved. ( When I concentrated on the rebels, the Navy and Energy reputation increased. )
These two things are what helped me change my reputation....Some systems take longer then others, but change they will. I also made sure that I did not try to set a time limit, but instead concentrated on having fun taking on contracts, flying to containers after a mission and loading up on what the containers had to sell back at the starport, and then take on another mission. ( I also made sure I never took on any Navy, Energy or Miner Hostile ships....I noticed that when I took them out my reputation lowered with the Navy, Energy and Miners.) I hope this helps you......

I have all but given up on working on any rep in any location. I do not have the "TIME" to sit at my computer for hours (lots of hours) at a time just to improve (maybe) a Rep. I will concentrate on other areas of the game untill hopefully something is done about the length of time needed to effect a Rep. I hope others out there feel the same but if not as comcast says, OH WELL.

I can remember a time when I was in the Olympus Prime system and I had just obtained a missile lock on a Hostile rebel and fired off my Excalibur missiles.....and then the Hostile jumped before the missiles had a chance to connect. ( there we're two hostile ships when I fired the missiles, but the other one was destroyed by other friendlies just after the other Hostile ship jumped ) You can guess what happened next....my missiles had taken out a few friendlies and my Rep took a dive from Fair to Moderate real quick. But, I learned several things since that incounter:
1. If you have a Hostile ship jump before the missile can connect and the missile heads towards a friendly ship, and that ship is close, quickly use the T key to target a ship that is farther away and watch the missile or missiles explode harmlessly in space. Toggle fast if all friendly ships are real close...the missiles will keep changing direction and will finally explode before they connect.
2. It is faster to change a reputation from good to bad....then from bad to good. ( It took a long time to get my rep back to Fair in Olympus Prime.)
3. Keep your eye on how much damage a Hostile ship is showing....if the Hostile ship is in the red and the engines still show gray....try to finish off the Hostile with cannon and Laser fire, otherwise they might jump. It is a tactical decision that may help.
System Reputation is important to some and not so important to others.....Personally I prefer not to have to pay docking fees and have better sale prices for the items I want to sell. Whatever your preference just have Fun and enjoy the universe of Evochron.

Madmax: maybe your reputation in Sapphire is good, but mine is only fair. Actually, it WAS good before the update to the reputation system was implemented. I had finally gotten on good terms...but then the update neutralized the progress I had made
\,so I had to start all over again. It feels like Xeno's paradox, though: the closer I get to the event horizon in which I improve my rep, the slower it seems to progress.
Otherwise, there is only one system I know I have a good rep in, and I'm just not up to that journey again.
