what is meant by rift space ?

The word Rift applies to this system with several of the various definitions:

Rift â€“ noun
1. an opening made by splitting, cleaving, etc.; fissure; cleft; chink. (a natural wormhole, a split in space, was the first way the system was discovered and when it was first nicknamed RiftSpace)
2. an open space (RS is known as one of the most open systems in known space, far away from the next nearest charted system)
3. a break in friendly relations: a rift between two people; a rift between two nations. (the 'rift' that formed between the Renegades and the Alliance resulted in the Renegades retreating to this system to remain hidden and rebuild their forces)
4. a difference in opinion, belief, or interest that causes such a break in friendly relations. (likewise, two separate idealogies resulted in the 'rift' forming between the two sides)

An interesting notion is that this was the first time we confronted Vonari in a system that could be considered theirs. In Evochron Alliance we assaulted a Vonari system and in Arvoch we did that once again. In Renegades, the Vonari system is available though hard to reach.
