Federation Mission Stage 2? *INFO*

I started playing again from scratch and took the Beginning of a Legacy Federation Mission. I am in Sierra and when I get to stage 2 it shows the mission marker is 119S away. There is not gates to that area and it also seems there is nothing there. Is it bugged?

Seems to still be working fine. Just need to route through Agate, then make sure to note the +15 SY elevation that places the destination far above the lower Agate system. Sometimes it can help to highlight a jump gate icon to view its destination, which can help determine how close a gate route might get you to a specific location. Once you get close, zooming out on the map and rotating it as needed can help determine relative position and elevation for where to jump to next.

I always think in terms of the "galactic" plane. Normally, the map displays a top-down (bird's eye) view of the plane. But you can "flip" the map to a side view, as if you're standing on the plane, looking up (at the "sky") and down (into a bottomless pit). If you zoom out, you can see higher and lower. Zoomed in, you can only see the sector on which you're standing (no sky above and no pit below).

In other words, if you've zoomed in on the top-down view and can't see anything, zoom out. If something shows up, flip to the side view while still zoomed out. The object should then show up either above or below your position.

Thanks for the replies, I will try again and see if I can find the site. The information says I need to travel to sector SX -2198, SY 15, SZ 3618. I imagine that is in Sierra.

Look for the Agate jump gate to get close, then watch for the +15 SY elevation sector location significantly above the Agate system's sector plane.

Thank you, when I knew to look at the gate destination I was able to get it sorted out.

Always keep in mind that space is like a hotel. SY tells you which floor your room is on. SX and SZ tells you which room. So, in your example, you'd take the elevator up to the 15th floor to find room -2198/3618 (assuming the hotel is round and the rooms are numbered north-south and east-west).
