Build Jump Gate in 2025

Post by Blackbirdx61 »

Is there anyway to build a permanent jump gate? I'm well aware of jump casters, but as I am trying to build out a dark sector system right now. I would hope a permanent gate might better tie it into the economy. Besides negating the need to waste two cargo slots on metal on any given trip out or back. If not, maybe hide the tech in a wreck or something but I think it should be included. BB.

Not in the standard gameplay mode where the fundamental rules apply. With regard to lore, those are industrial level jump gates placed by Alliance/Federation governments during the course of expansion in the charted systems. In terms of gameplay, they apply specific travel paths to establish certain intended trade routes, territory conditions, pacing, and difficulty/risk/challenge levels throughout the various regions (keeping the charted systems charted and more accessible while keeping the uncharted systems uncharted and more difficult to reach aligning with limited asset placements and populations).

That said, you can certainly make the process much easier by simply reapplying whatever you need to place jump casters when/where you want them for free and without time investment via the sandbox mode. Or you can make it even easier by teleporting yourself where you want to go in the same mode. That way, you can bend or break the rules however you wish to meet your travel objectives as if there are permanent jump gates wherever you want them.

IIRC, you can add gates when you script a quest. They won't have the throbbing-fluctuating interior but you can insert a graphic in the middle of each.

When I made my trip to sol and made a chain of stations like gas stations, I could often buy metal or other resources if I wanted to speed things up for travel. There doesn't seem to be a limit on number of stations just one per sector and they give you recurrent funding.

TY All, Sorry for the late reply. Health Issues, but I am quite interested. I have largely been exploring lately.
I found/lost one system with 3 wrecks on an scan uncharted mission; but that was just before I learned how to add items to the map log. Now I am just hoping it will pop up again. All in all still the best space game I have found for my personal tastes.

Unless you're in the middle of a quest, most of the wrecks you come across won't disappear once you leave the area. They are derelicts from bygone days of yore; tributes and warnings of past conflict, against either man or nature (or both).

Well, now that you've discovered the log, I suggest you make good use of it. Also, both maplog and flightlog are sw files which can be opened with Notepad, in case you want to make a hard copy or edit the entries.

Assuming you haven't found the map logs already, you can find them here (probably):
This PC > Documents > EvochronLegacySE > maplogN.sw where N is your pilot's profile number.
