[AA/EL] Custom Keybinding Profile *INFO*

Post by Grinder »

Is there a way to create my own loadable profile and save it similar to the pre-existing ones?

Launch the game -> select and load a pilot -> click on Options -> click on Key/Button Controls.

You can optionally back up the keymap8.sw file in the save data folder (\Documents\EvochronLegacy) for key mappings. Or edit and save the 'ControlProfile#.txt' files for specific button/axis mapping with particular control devices.

Thanks for the info. So I guess there is no way to have them listed like the Saitek ones etc? Guessing those are probably hard coded.

If you are talking about the control profiles available in the control device axis configuration menu, yes, you can modify the file(s) I referred to above and put it/them in a new number slot (ie 'ControlProfile7.txt'). In fact, the profile selection system uses those files exclusively and they are fully editable.

Once you enter the button and axis assignments you want and save the file, it will then appear in the menu as an available control profile for you to select. Instructions on modifying them are included in the files themselves (you can even have the game open to test your control device at the same time you change values in those files to observe button numbers and axis channels if you're not sure what they are on the device you are using).
