EL Mod Questions

I have 2 little tweaks I'd like to make to my game if possible and I'm not quite sure how to do them:

First and probably easiest to answer, I'd like to change the computer's verbal "Avionics switched to Planetary Mode" alert, and either change it to a sonic boom effect I'll find or add the sonic boom to the verbal message.
What's that particular filename for the alerts folder?
Is the original alert in the game files that I could edit in Audacity and add the effect too?

Second question, i have the extra hud info enabled and I'd like to add a shadow behind them but they are wider than B2compass.
Is it possible to add shadows that wide?

1) It is easy yes, make a bb-avioplanet.wav file.
Just create the wave file you want to play as a default (22khz 16 bit pcm) file and put it into a folder called alerts in main evo folder. Can make it a sound instead of a voice.

2) May or may not help you, but if you moved the numbers (which can totally be done through the text file with some trial and error with the cockpitviewer too) then you could add a shadow manually to b2compassshadow.png and make it fit otherwise I wouldn't be sure without moving that display stuff.

Since the b2-compass image extends across the entire length of the box, I can't see where it would help to lengthen the box ... doing so would only shrink the upper HUD image. Which is why I usually sandwich my coordinate and inventory lists between the upper HUD and the targeting info.

Thank you that's what I needed.


And as too the hud, I was using b2-compass as an exammple becuse it's the widest texture in the hud files but I was hoping maybe I could stick thehe shadows to the the MDS monitor textures or something.
