How can I help?

Post by OreoGamingGeek »

Okay--so I've made two topics here so far, and they've all been questions. I don't usually like being that kind of a leech on the community, so I'd like to turn that around somehow. How can I help out around here? Evochron is, at least in my mind, one of, if not *the* definitive sci-fi space game on the market today. It's got absolutely everything--I'm not even sure I'll mind not being able to fly cap ships when I get to the big merc hulls. But I'd love to show my support more--especially because it's still a primarily singleplayer experience--that makes me *so* happy in an era of microtransaction-based online-only MMOs (and with a full-time job and a real-life family, I don't have a lot of time to sink hours into an MMO at the rate of my fellow players).

Can I do anything to show my support? Maybe--buy a 2nd copy of the game? Does Vice have a Patreon or something? I would love to show my continued support, to show that we love what he does! :D

Hi OGG! welcome to the game and the great community that supports it.

A few thoughts off the top of my head:

If you fancy the idea, write some fanfic stories - the community like them but not many people can write them - alternately combine the story with a quest; There are people (e.g Marvin) who can help with the nitty gritty of how to turn the story into a quest file. (From EMII days there's a compilation of short stories and story fragments available on SeeJay's site: http://www.evochron2.junholt.se/main/merc2storys.htm to give you ideas)

Create some cool mods (see the customising kit) and/or if you can do the 3D modelling thing, create some new frames for those who have specific request, like the ones you would like to see wrt guns and engines or extra tools - again look on SeeJay's site for the sort of add ons that have been produced.

:)
