Hi,
the radar is the most important device when you are looking for containers on planets, for example during contracts in search for items.
The 2D radar is especially useful planetside, it gives you a de-cluttered scope where you can quickly spot only the most important objects.
The problem: green dots are still visible, although you have to look carefully. But purple dots are almost invisible in specific lightening conditions or if you use the infrared light (night-light vision).
I could figure this out by doing such item contracts on planets, and by pure chance I succeeded mainly because I have switched from 2D to 3D radar where the purple dot is clearly visible.
If the dots were just a little bigger and brigther by contrast in the 2D radar, then it would be perfect IMO.
Greets,

Here is what an increase of about 50% looks like for the purple blip and nav marker (all other blips would be increased to this level as well). This looks like it would probably be just about right to not overlap other blips too badly yet still make them much more visible. See what you think (current is on the left, increased version is on the right):

Hi Vice,
very nice you look at it. I think the problem is the dot's brightness, which is currently too dark to spot the purple ones (others are fine). I'll do some more item missions on planets and make some screenshots if you like.
The above is good, but as you say there will be the new problem of overlapping which is not so good. Can you make them brighter?

When not fully bright, they can still be visible when overlapping, which may be more important the larger they are. However, the textures themselves will still be moddable if you'd like to change their intensity and overlapping washout isn't as much of a concern/issue for you and the resolution/monitor you are using.

Thanks to elaborate on this
Speaking about mods, can I use the EM Custumization Kit and are the mechanics of mods the same? for example, putting a Music folder into the game folder and giving the appropriate file names of the tracks? Looking at the EL files, they are very similar to the EM system.

There are similarities, but also a lot of differences. The EL customizing instructions are kept online here: http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegac ... readme.htm

Just for the record I want to state that when near a planet the purple marker is not distinguishable enough from red markers.
I say this because I mistake reds for purples all the time near planets.

I suppose if the purple blips were enlarged (as indicated above) but the hostile ship blips remained the current size, that might be enough to differentiate the two. But ... can't the radar blips be modded using the Customizing Kit?
