Fuel Processor and weapon recharge rate question.

Post by WarriorneX »

Hello everyone, I'm a new Rookie Pilot, and I have many questions about the game, but the one that i'm more interested is a little bit more of information about the Fuel Processor. I already know that I can deploy one in a nebula, and near a star, then once I'm inside, I will start to get 5 units of fuels every time my weapon recharge.

So after spending a few minutes (20), waiting to get my fuel back I made a freaking huge discovery, I was getting fuel every time my weapon recharged to 100%, so I diverted all power to my weapons and it was faster, so here comes the question.

Is there any way to make that charge rate go even faster? Thx to that I also found out that it helps while doing FTL jumps, because it recharge more faster.

Thanks.:cool::)

Fuel Processor and weapon recharge rate question.

Diverting energy from shields is the fastest way to fuel up. Did you deploy the processor inside a nebula or near a star? The reason I ask is because, if you're using a star, then it helps to deploy the processor either directly above or below the star. Otherwise, thanks to gravitational pull, you're likely to drift outside of the processor and into the star.

Until Marvin suggested this tip, I spent a lot of time trying to balance behind the central pillar so I wasn't being pulled towards the star! It appears that lateral thinking isn't my forte :P

That's why I prefer the fuel converter. It's faster, it doesn't need iron and you have a bigger window for fighting the pull of the sun/star. But the fastest way is to use them both, if you got them both. But as time is money, I tend to buy the fuel more often now when I can. Even though it's getting more expensive, since (I guess) rise in rank and cash. It's like a fuel tax depending on wealth.

And nice tip Marvin, need to test that.

LOL I was doing that the same way as you DaveK. Thank you for the wonderful tip Marvin, there is a star that has a lot of asteroids around it, so I put one in there, and then I needed to be working with the gravity to stay near the central pillar, now I can just deploy mining probe, run back to the fuel processor and wait for it to be done, then back to recover my cargo. I hvn't tested it so I'm going to do that now!

Thx again.

:cool: I'm not sure I'd leave my ship unattended, even when it's stuck either on the ceiling or on the floor of a refueling station. It might still eventually slide out.

yeah the fuel processor position depends on the planar gravitational field so yeah if you build it on top or below the plane will be higher, and even if you are get sucked in by the gravitational pull your ship stay there. Only problem is that once my inventory is full and I run back to the station to put everything in the hanger my refuel station + shiel + sensor, plus everything that I build, is gone...... :(...... maybe the gravitational pull of the star is really huge....? or it's meant to be like that ?

For deployed modules, if you leave the sector, the AI will abscond with them all.
