I'm not online, sorry.
But if you save and log off,
then rightclick on servers to see if anyone is on. Then log on there might help.

Hi Rod. Did you get rescued? I'm about to go online. I'm out in deep space but if you're not in a hurry I could eventually get to you

There needs to be a "transmit distress call" you can do for the cost of a "rescue contract", where an AI will try to find you , repair beam you and fuel you up instead of it being a human, or you doing it for AI.
God knows I've given the AI lots of fuel through contracts, I wish it worked both ways.
kinda saw this coming...it's a badly needed feature.

A sort of 'get of of jail free' card?
It would take some of the challenges away - keeping an eye on your fuel and planning your journey. Pay a fee and you're 100% set up again. It would make combat easier too.

Yeah, but if you save on route somewhere, and play exclusively single player.....
Maybe the fee could be pretty detrimental, like half your funds! It'd reduce the monopoly play you're talking about.
I totally get yah, but I feel like being able to BE rescued by AI when you rescue them, would be a nice feature, especially if you really do need it.
Most noobies don't spent too much time thinking about that stuff, and it'd be nice to not stumble into a situation like this Rod Jones had.

I like the idea of a very stiff fee - it would make it a choice of last resort and you'd probably have to wait a while for the AI to get to you. From post: 187202, Topic: tid=12581, author=matchbox2022 wrote:Yeah, but if you save on route somewhere, and play exclusively single player.....

I'm not sure about half my bank account - it took a lot of work to get to be a multimillionaire (around 80 mill) but certainly 10%-15% perhaps; it needs enough to stop it being the easy choice but not so much that you spend more time recovering than you would have lost going back to your last saved profile.

If such an option were possible, the cost should at least reflect what you get paid for performing the same task. And, if it was extended, the cost might be per sector. From post: 187228, Topic: tid=12581, author=DaveK wrote:I'm not sure about half my bank account - it took a lot of work to get to be a multimillionaire (around 80 mill) but certainly 10%-15% perhaps; it needs enough to stop it being the easy choice but not so much that you spend more time recovering than you would have lost going back to your last saved profile.

Approximate cost of a rescue mission(plus taxes and fees
) multiplied by distance in sectors(since those missions only apply to in-sector rescues), and an appropriate wait time, perhaps assuming rescue ship is using a C2 fulcrum jump drive... Seems legit. Maybe also tie in a small percentage chance that the rescue ship is actually a pirate, or enemy faction member coming to rob and/or kill you. I like that idea a lot.

That would be a very cool feature.
I already get gipped paying for information sometimes, I like the idea of being able to save yourself for that fee, but the AI coming to help could be a pirate.

If you email your profile to vice and ask him nicely in tech support he might be able to physically move your save file location or give you gas.
Im sorry, Im too busy with school to be playing right now.
Kinda hits the point home with being able to send out a distress call to AI yourself.
Do you have any earlier copies of save files or profiles to revert to? (hindsight 2020.)
If no one has helped you by tomorrow evening (7pm PST), I can finally jump on and rescue you unless someone else does, please reply on here or send a u2u to confirm.
