Hey, been playing EM for a while, just got EL today. Adjusting well and loving all the changes.
Really curious about new shipyard features, such as resistors and shields. I'm wondering if there's a way to get a numeric value of my ship's shields in the shipyard, or at all. Since there's no more flat amount shield upgrades available, I'm wondering if it's a flat rate based on frame, or only affected by shield batteries and/or shield module, or what.
Also a quick question about resistors. Reading their description, it sounds like they only affect hull damage. Is that correct? Or do they also reduce energy damage to shields? I generally like to focus on shields for protection, and just hope I play well enough to avoid taking hull damage altogether, so it would make a major difference in how I build my ships.

I think it's highly dependent on energy cores, I have not seen number values either.
resistors would only affect hull damage logically being that it's using the hull for dissipation...kinda like an armor bonus if you already have lots. But being their added mass and the fact that armor is basically meaningless it ends up just slowing down the ship.
The game-play is focused very highly...too highly.... on energy and shields,
not much toward armor plating points and balancing your ship out for when the shields do fail.
We're trying to change that up a bit with disruptors if you don't mind voting in these forums (there's a separate thread for it) on what you'd like to see.

Jump on a server when there's about 3 or more on too, joint multiplayer missions are quite fun

Yeah, I've popped on multiplayer a bit, but usually don't catch anyone else about. Seen some folks on EU server from the list, but worried about lag, as I am in the US.

Thanks, yeah. I gave EU server a whirl, and even at 200-250 ping, I could barely tell. Only time I really felt it was with chat delay.
