Please follow the posting guidelines for this section of the forum: http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4651

In general, those types of errors are driver/system related. Make sure your chipset drivers/bios is up to date for your system. If you're running a current display driver, try rolling back to see if any earlier one is more stable. If you google:

'Display Driver Nividia Windows Kernal Mode Driver has stopped responding'

You'll find a lot of examples around the internet of both causes and solutions.

What are your gpu temps?
The driver will often crash if the voltage isn't high enough for said frequency at high temps.
V = I x R :P
I only say that because the same thing happens to me without fail until I lower the frequency, even by 10mhz.
Do, or do not, there is no try.

Actually. I have this error from time to time myself.
Then again my actual pc is pretty much eviscerated and has its guts half on my table.

Most of the time you give it some time and it will fix.
If it doesn't auto fix. Restart your pc and it should be fine then.

Driver Crashes rarely last beyond a full pc restart.
If you are using any windows newer than windows 7, chances are you have to make sure you do not use the power button on the pc, but instead use the "shutdown" command in the operating system. Because newest versions are all about "quick restarting" which do NOT restart your pc fully. And they also do NOT reinitialise your systems fully upon reactivation.

In my experience display driver faults are usually caused by unstable clock settings or non clean removal of prev driver..

System Failures are usually the Bios but its really hard to say.. My Pc did odd stuff until I underclocked my R9 290 by 2% really odd. I was getting memory errors too so I am pretty sure either a DIMM is damaged or I need to flash my bios with a recommended stable firmware rather than use beta third-party firmware. For my system anything beyond F4 causes issues for a lot of people I am running F5C Motherboard is http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/pro ... id=4288#ov

I would LOVE to overclock my R9 290 but it's a reference card and even though AMD state its normal for it to reach 95c under full load I rather it throttle at 90c and have the fan duty capped at 55% otherwise it howls.

Ideally I would slap a water unit on it but at this stage AMD already have the 3xx and fury range out so I am just wait until I can be bothered moving over to the DDR4 platform and get one of those fancy X2 range cards with the cross fire on single PCB pre water looped.

My card is well good enough for anything currently I see no reason to upgrade an i7-3820 with decent GSKILL 2400mhz DDR3 the girlfriend is getting me an oculus rift next month so I am super excited, depending how that works I may not bother with Eyefinity for quite some time.

I've been advised that the Oculus Rift requires a lot of muscle. Let us know how it works out with your current setup.
