[EL] Hosting a server

Is there any info anywhere on hosting a Evochron Legacy server? I've searched but have come up dry.

You can install the legacy server and then read the readme.htm file. The server setup program will be in your main game folder. It's called ELServer.exe. (without the ending period, of course). I'll tell you a few things you need to know. 1st, if this is going to be a listed server, you need to host it on a machine that is used for nothing but the server and things relating to the server, such as maybe a TS3 server and/or player listing utility, and has an always on internet connection. The machine will need to run all the time, unless you want to set it for certain hours (which is not recommended).

1st thing you need to do is install the server on your main machine that you play on. Not to run it, but just so you can start familiarizing yourself with how things work. Once you've done this, open up the text8.dat file in notepad and look through there. The only thing you'll change before label line (as opposed to actual line number) 400 is label line 200. This is where you put the name of your server. Leave everything else between there and label line 400 alone. Don't alter them at all!! I can't stress that enough. Beginning at label line 400 are your server's actual configuration settings and they are pretty straightforward.

I have not yet uploaded a tutorial for setting up a server.
But I will get around to it soon.

Basicly install the server installer in your evochron legacy folder.
Edit the text8.dat file to fit your liking.
Then run one of the two server executables in the install folder of your server.

If you are running the "EvochronLegacyServer.exe" remember to launch your game first. Because you will not be able to do it afterwards.
If you are running "EvochronLegacyServer2D.exe" you should be fine.

EDIT:
Apparantly I wrote myself a guide to my personal offline wiki.
XD I will translate it into a video tomorrow.

That should no longer apply after the first update of the server program. You can launch either server program before or after launching the game. Just use a more recent build of the server program(s).
