[EL] Assistance with combat video.

Post by DeathTech »

Hey guys. As some of you may know I am working on a full in-depth guide to this game (Evochron Legacy).

You can see all of that in the topic I made for it here:
http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12302

In the spirit of the tutorial series I want to show off combat.
But because combat is a bit chaotic when dealing with unruly AI.
I would like to see if anyone feels like being a test subject for my combat tutorial video.

Anyone is welcome to help out.
Post here if you want to help out and I will contact you using the forums U2U (user to user) internal personal messaging.

Thanks for reading / possibly helping guys. :)

I'd be happy to help out with that. Not much of a combat pilot really, but I'd be good at being an easy target if you want to document basic combat maneuvers.

I pretty much need one or a couple of people to record a multi-player session with to display basic combat.

Both hitting and getting hit.

It won't require intense MLG pro flying.
Basicly just a sparring partner or two. I myself am primarily a trader, explorer and builder.

Combat isn't my strong suit either.

I might be able to help out and can probably record the session on my side as well if you want to edit into your video for different perspectives.

Lets hope we can. :)
I will look into a time schedule for it.

We will more than likely be aiming for a weekend time.
Although sooner may be preferable for myself due to local conditions I can only really record every couple of days.

If everyone can share with me their local time zones it may make this somewhat easier. :)

I myself am GMT+0.

If you want to schedule a time between a bunch of people internationally, this online tool works a treat. You set the times your availabel then everyone ticks off the slots that they're available, and you see which time slot is best for everyone. Works across time zones... http://doodle.com/?home

Alrighty we all filled in.

I locked the poll so the times to gather should now show displayed.

I will send everyone involved a U2U and / or e-mail. On the day itself.
It will contain the connection details for the server I will be hosting for said purpose.

If possible. MCCON (Sinbad) can you kit your ship out pre-emptively for fast shield regen and powerful shields.
We can use you as a target dummy. Bring some CM for missiles.

Marvin & delta, bring some of your favorite missiles & guns (beam or particle).

If you guys have any topic ideas for the video feel free to post some so I can take them into consideration for placement.

If there's still time, I'd love to be an example of cloaking combat.
Or I could sit pretty as you target my subsystems.
Do, or do not, there is no try.

I'm currently in a Leviathon frame... tough and slow. I'll set it up for maximum defensive capabilities with armour, energy, and shields.

I'm just in a very basic starter ship as I am extremely new to EL. So, I'll just bring what I can.

Also we may all want to move pre-emptively to pearl.
It should be relatively stable and secure enough that we don't get bothered by AI.

If that is what it sais on the page for you, yes.
For me it is from 0am to 3am.

So I will stay up for this. :)

The main recording session would be today at (gmt+0) 0am - 3am.
Because I already closed the time sync site page. You'll have to figure out what time it is yourself dependent on your local time.

If you can't make it you might always be able to show up on Saturday when I do some recording with Brian.

DeathTech, I believe you were going to send connect info (I assume server and Teamspeak) at some point. Where and when will you send that?

Thank you guys for participating with the creation of a basic ish combat tutorial video explaining some combat basics.

Thanks to everyone who participated and those who displayed interest.

Hopefully I will be able to process the materials soon and use them to build a somewhat good video.
