Saved profiles not loading - Problem Fixed
I updated to the current version and found that my saved profiles were not showing on the pilot manager. I checked the install folder and it shows the saved pilot files there, pilot 1, 2, 3 etc but when I load the game, it doesn't display. I originally installed the game on my c:/ drive and worked fine there even prompted me for new updates, but didn't after the current version and when I moved my install folder to d drive. It also asked me to load my reference ID key info which I did, and then after that, pilot manager unable to load my saves.

Did you try renaming one at a time to pilot0? then checking the very top of your list?
Do, or do not, there is no try.

When you moved the install folder to d drive. did you leave the C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegacy folder or move that too?
Unless things have changed since EM the saves will be need to be in the C:drive sw3dg folders legacy
Moving them might mean the game cant find them anymore.

I moved the legacy folder to the d drive yes, but the save profiles still show on the install folder. Are there any solutions?

sorry, I'm alittle confused by the wording. From post: 184726, Topic: tid=12405, author=Marcellus wrote:I moved the legacy folder to the d drive yes, but the save profiles still show on the install folder. Are there any solutions?

You moved the folder from the default location or did you copied the folder to a new location and keep the the old install in place?
If there is still the old install folder there at its default location, then your problem is something I know nothing about.
Maybe I should leave this for Vice to sort out.

I moved the folder from the default location on c:/ drive via copy and paste yet it left a backup sw3dg game folder with some files after it moved to d:/ drive. From post: 184735, Topic: tid=12405, author=MiaZ wrote:sorry, I'm alittle confused by the wording. From post: 184726, Topic: tid=12405, author=Marcellus wrote:I moved the legacy folder to the d drive yes, but the save profiles still show on the install folder. Here are the instructions for what you want to do:
[Edited on 2-7-2016 by Radikal]
I did the same thing (moved from C to D drive) and totally freaked out.To change the save data folder where the game stores settings and profiles, create a text file in the game's new location you want (in the game's folder where you installed the game and where the EvochronLegacy.exe file is located) named savedir.txt and in the first line, put the drive and folder location. The game automatically adds the \\sw3dg and the \\EvochronLegacy folder names, so you only need to list the drive and folders that come before those.
For example, if you just move the \\sw3dg\\EvochronLegacy folder group (both \\sw3dg and \\EvochronLegacy) from C to D, your savedir.txt file would have this in the first line:
d:\\
With nothing else after it. The game will add the \\sw3dg and \\EvochronLegacy folder names and use the new location.

Yea I have EL currently installed on other driver too, but all my save game files are still read and saved to the C drive
I never needed to worry about the savedir.txt.

Apologies for putting this thread on general discussion instead of technical.

No apology necessary. This kind of thing can help others in the main Evochron forum since it's not really a technical issue with the game, but just a configuration issue (and there's already a help thread in the technical support forum for managing save games and changing the storage location).

The saves are stored in the root of C:/ moving them means it won't find them. quite possible that moving the game to D:\\ this happened as it expects them to be there and they are not.
There is a work around for this made by the community which SeeJay has hosted here http://evochron2.junholt.se (it is under legacy/guides section) will let you define your own save-game location, personally I would put it into "Documents\\mygames\\Evochron Legacy] the method used to make this change is persistent and so you could move your game anywhere you want it will always know where the saves are. I don't know why they are not already there myself either but I am sure there is a reason.

Apparently this topic needs a "fixed" edited into the title.
