Bug Or Am I Missing Something?
I had a contract to escort a capital ship, 2 estimated fighters. I was fighting them when some friendlies showed up, both fighters got taken out and some more bad guys showed up, as we were engaging them (well, i was trying to, I'm still rubbish at shooting in this game and ran too far from missiles to get back quickly) the cap ship must have made it to its destination as I got a contract complete notification. What struck me as odd though is that the enemy ships turned from red to green immediately and all hostilities ceased.

Although pretty rare, those kind of events can happen. You may even catch a hostile ship or two 'surrendering' and/or jumping away after an engagement. Territory shifts and individual decision making can be part of the process in their behavior.

Ah right, thanks for clearing that up. That's a degree of dynamism I wasn't expecting, it's nice to be surprised.

I've had the opposite happen during refuel rescue contracts, ships turning hostile after delivering fuel and contract completed, so watch for those too. From post: 184657, Topic: tid=12402, author=Vice wrote: Although pretty rare, those kind of events can happen. That sounds interesting, too much predictability in space games can leave them feeling lifeless.
