It would be nice if every display in your cockpit changed color dynamically with your HUD. I use an amber/burnt orange hud, but I can not seem to get them to change to the proper colors. Am I missing something?
P.S. Is there any way to turn off or hide the mouse look indicator when you are using mouse look, it always looks weird in screenshots.

I presume you are talking about the other non gameplay related textures you see in the cockpit, I am not sure if those are baked into cockpits or actually textures as I didn't see anything about them in the sample mod kit.

It's got the same job as the camera view indicators and it does look a little odd in screen shot! Admittedly not as convenient as a toggle, I use a photo program and clone it away with the nearby textures - you can usually get a very good result

Hi Gal, I think they're baked in. And when did they change to keyboard pictures?
I don't see these as separate pictures, as I thought Wookie changed them there.
I have often wanted to change these textures and I think they're part of the mesh texture. The system is a little different from EM. From Vice:

It’s much the same, but there aren’t mesh layers this time, just multiple textures. Full details are available on the customizing web page here: http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegac ... readme.htm
You don’t need to worry about the shaders as that’s all internal with the game engine. All the game needs is valid mesh data and texture data, then it will take care of all of the base, normal, specula, and emissive details based on the texture maps you import.
You only need to supply the texture maps. You don’t need to worry about the HLSL shader coding or application of shader code. The game takes care of all of the shader work internally. But you do need to supply each of the 4 texture layers.

Thats correct the majority of the cockpit is baked into the cockpit with its combined shader text file although you can make these apply for the individual ships by using the correct ID for the HULL.
The displays (left, right, center) everything in the gunsight and all the menu bars and buttons and cursors you can however change freely. Including the solar flars and other such things.
I have been looking for examples of a cockpit for a while now, as I too want to replace the cockpit graphics and re model the default ones with more polys so the internal shaders can shadow with less jaggies. But alas currently nobody has any examples or advice on how to import and export a cockpit and the default's don't come with the mod kit.
