Yes, that's correct. Just consider Joe Public = Mercenary Guild's civilian rating department. And once you get a quite a few contracts on your record, the type of ship you fly will matter less and less overall.

Is this the place for reporting bugs so i don't clutter up the forum?
The other day i noticed if i am targeting a ship and it goes stealth, my mouse locks position on the center of the screen, even outside the game. It can be easily undone by targeting something else, but there is not always something else to target.

Yes, and that bug also surfaces in the gun turret mode. It was reported earlier and should now be fixed for the next update. If you'd like a test build to try before the official update, just send me a quick e-mail (starwraith.com > contact).

Makes sense to me too. After all, it's your reputation ... not your skill. Kind of like a credit rating. You can have a million dollars in the bank but, if your credit rating is all down hill, you'll be paying out the nose for this, that and the other thing ... unless you pay in cash. Which, if you do, won't help your credit rating. From post: 184380, Topic: tid=12248, author=Flashman014 wrote:So, if I'm understanding this correctly, civilian rating is based on what other "people" (read as: Joe Public, A.I.) think about me?

There is still the small issue there of even the lowest military ship costs $4 mil, but it doesn't really matter. I get the point. From post: 184412, Topic: tid=12248, author=Marvin wrote: Makes sense to me too. After all, it's your reputation ... not your skill. Kind of like a credit rating. This post was actually to bring up a bug. The mouse seems to still be having issues with leaving the screen in Mouse Direction control mode. I even have mouse lock on. The issue here is I have the Travel Buddy and Game Note sitting on top of my game screen (naturally). When I get into combat, with all the mouse waving and whatnot, I find when I'm done, the two other windows have been moved around the screen. Occasionally, one of them will get clicked on and the game will lose focus and I'll find that my controls don't respond properly until I click in the game window again. Vice mentioned a fix for another mouse issue a few posts up, so I'm not sure if that will fix this one or not, but I thought I'd bring it up sooner than later.

The Travel Buddy isn't required during combat (in fact, it would get in the way). You can Alt-Tab it to the task bar and then, later, Alt-Tab to bring it back.

My monitor is big enough there's plenty of room for it to just sit on my ship's "dashboard," as it were. I'm just pointing out that the mouse has a few kinks with showing up unannounced still. From post: 184484, Topic: tid=12248, author=Marvin wrote:The Travel Buddy isn't required during combat (in fact, it would get in the way). I can't seem to top off my fuel by using the custom quantity selector.
I thought maybe I was just doing my maths wrong so I took it to 1499 and tried to buy one more and was denied again.

1499.9999 will appear as 1499, so 1499.9999+1.0 will be over the 1500 tank limit. There'll always be a mcg or so less than the tank cap. The 'Fill Fuel Tank' button will fill the tank to the maximum available capacity automatically.

So you're saying that you're not going to put enough room in the hud to accommodate displaying .999999999999999? I suppose I can live with that.

I think the idea is that if there are ship systems up and running such as the power core, ship's computer, and life support system, there will always be a miniscule amount of fuel being consumed. You might notice that using the "Fill fuel tank" button will for a fraction of a second give you the full 1500. You might also notice that cruising around in Inertial mode with no pilot-provided input, still 'sips' fuel. I've found for trips like that (at least in the previous title, Mecenary) it's best to set your shield and weapon balance to s0/w0 for maximum fuel efficiency.

I have not noticed this to be true. If your engines are set to 0, you should be burning no fuel. Your ship has a power system (energy cores) that should power most systems without the engines being engaged. I've gotten very good at monitoring my fuel usage and as long as my engines are set to 0, none is consumed. As soon as you move and a thruster is fired, even with engines at 0, fuel is consumed, but if you're perfectly still, nothing is consumed. From post: 184568, Topic: tid=12248, author=Rubber Chicken wrote:I think the idea is that if there are ship systems up and running such as the power core, ship's computer, and life support system, there will always be a miniscule amount of fuel being consumed. Hi sorry if this has already been reported
I hired fleet to attack an enamy station , I targeted a station module (shields) and ordered my fleet to attack my target , thay did not attack but just flew about ,disappeared, came back , but never attacked my target.
At the time there were no hostile ship in the area.

From post: 184576, Topic: tid=12248, author=Flashman014 wrote:Then I'm going to blame it on 'slop' from my current throttle setup. It may be my controller and not the game. I have the throttle set to fire the inertial forward/reverse thrusters, but it does not have a physical center notch. Even with a large deadzone, there is a possibility I'm just not getting it into a perfectly neutral position. The thrusters may be firing just enough that there's no noticeable accel. or decel. and the sound effect doesn't play, but fuel is still consumed...From post: 184568, Topic: tid=12248, author=Rubber Chicken wrote:I think the idea is that if there are ship systems up and running such as the power core, ship's computer, and life support system, there will always be a miniscule amount of fuel being consumed. I built a space station command module planetside - maybe about 50k in its atmosphere or so; the bottom of the station was very nearly grazing the planet's surface. It wouldn't call out a docking port clearance and it wouldn't let me dock, and there were graphics anomalies as well; day transitioned to night on station docking port approach, and flying out of it made the ground render in strange and glitchy ways.
I managed to get video of it. Is that needed? Also, do I need to prepare any other kind of information? All told, it was a pretty entertaining experience.

The profile saved near that location would be good (e-mail to starwraith.com > contact).

You may have sent me the wrong one, I received the pilot1.bak which is a delete backup file and it was saved at Aries with normal station conditions. So it may be the pilot1.sw or the pilot0.sw file.

My bad, sorry! I don't have pilot1.sw, so it must be pilot0.sw - also, this was in multiplayer; I don't know if that would matter or not. From post: 184653, Topic: tid=12248, author=Vice wrote: You may have sent me the wrong one, I received the pilot1.bak which is a delete backup file and it was saved at Aries with normal station conditions. Yes, that would matter since the station data won't be saved in the client save file. Which server?

DarkStar US Server East. Would the coordinates be helpful? I hesitate to post since you likely have the information and it's in an uncharted system (don't want to spoil anything for anyone). From post: 184680, Topic: tid=12248, author=Vice wrote: Yes, that would matter since the station data won't be saved in the client save file. Thanks, that gave me all the info I needed. You're right, it is something of a bug as the system shouldn't allow you build that close to the atmosphere. An additional check has been added for the next update to prevent that kind of build point from being available.
