Voice Attack profile for Legend

Post by jflatto »

Hi all. I just posted a Voice Attack (http://www.voiceattack.com/) profile for Evochron Legend on SeeJay’s site (http://evochron2.junholt.se/) under the “tools section.

My profile is nothing particularly special but it does include most of the commands and voice feedback. Feel free to use and modify with my blessing. If you make major changes to the profile, I just ask that you provide the updates to SeeJay for his site so that he can make them available for others to use.

To get an idea of what you can do with Voice Attack, see the profile created by Valander at
http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtop ... #pid174892 for Mercenary. (Latest version part way down the thread at 3.32 pm on 1-24-2015.) Far more impressive than mine as it contains multiple alternative voice commands as well as programming logic to keep track of status of items such as whether the Navigation panel is open or closed.

Could this program replace all (or almost all) of the keyboard buttons?

Between my X52 and Voice Attack, I do not need to use the keyboard. Voice Attack is easy to set up and use.

Did I answer your question?

Hey, I have made one for Legacy too. Jflatto, did you mean Legend or Legacy? Would the Legend one work in Legacy?

I didn't want to release it yet, because the logic in it is dumb, and I was going to use a Voice Attack file reading plugin to read the savedata.txt to get the status of everything and add some smart logic, but that is way too much work for me and the enduser. I do want to add some custom voice feedback instead of the TTS. I was going to post it, but seems people have already done it and more lol. And yeah, voice attack is a great way to spend $8.

If anyone wants it, find me on the Discord server or U2U me and I'll send it over. Has all the commands, time says the time back to you, boost, etc. I might add some custom voice responses.

Me bad. I meant Legacy. Teaches me to rush when writing my messages right before taking my daughter to gymnastics. :)

Take a look at the profile I mention in my original message above created by Valander to see what you can do.

Yeah, I have VA, It can do a lot. I've used some really cool profiles when I played Elite:Dangerous. My profile uses some logic to know when you have the navmap, inventory, nightvision etc on and responds with "showing map" or "hiding map" and captures the keypresses to change the boolean in addition to the voice, but it's still easy to mess it up so I have an initialize voice command that resets the variables. Love the program, it is quite good. I've looked at Verlanders and it's got everything mine has and more.

Just sent you a U2U. Unfortunately, real life keeps interrupting my game time. :) I think I spend more time reading the forums than playing since I can read the forums in small chunks.

Yup. Personally, I have no problem using the keyboard and joystick but there are players, using other control devices, who might find this a substitute for additional game coding.
